At last, a striker who is a striker. Got pace & runs the channels. Our tippy tappy football & one dimensional previous striker Wootton, was our downfall in previous seasons.
Our previous manager was by far our biggest downfall last season. Wootton was very good for us and despite having no strike partner, being double marked and little support still finished joint top scorer.

Good point, although in that case all the credit must go to the owners for putting in their hands in the pocket and securing their signatures when every other NL club (and above) knew about them and didn't.

Managers/Head Coaches tend to be the main reason a club do or don't get promoted when you've got it right off field which we have IMO.

I guess he'd argue that his approach using only one up top ably supported from just behind resulted in 81 goals last season which is a handsome total.

I agree with him. Over 50 goals from him and those playing just behind must have been far more than for several seasons.

Glad we have LW now, but being seconds away from a play-off semi (ruined by a stupid push) and the much better style of football, wouldn't say to me he was a complete failure, although he did ultimately fall short. Close margins.

Anyway, we are looking good, in a good place in the league, we have found a genuine strike force, absolute top goal scorer, pressing higher and not giving the opposition a moment on the ball. Sent out a statement yesterday I think that we can do what Wrexham and Chesterfield can. I think it will be between the three of us - and of course only 2 can go up at most. I think we have shown that we can be looking for that too spot.

It's going to be a great season I think, prepare for the ride!

Which is a stat. The "radar" will have taken that stat and a bunch of others, and used a formula for comparing their opposition in that league, with ours, and come up with "get this guy".

In this case, seems to've worked rather well.

I'm sure there are leagues that're bad enough that a 50 goal striker there wouldn't be much use for us in the NL.

Has to be said that 4 of the players from that level that we have taken have fitted in really well, while TAR hasn't really had a chance yet but could still come good. Lewis Knight was unfortunate with his injuries.

I think it was Langstaff who said that one of the main reasons for joining was the dossier the club had built up in him, how he would fit into our team etc.

So the Radar system managed to work out that the National League North is only one level below the level we're currently playing in. Genius.

Interesting the way this is going.

For years teams have been hoping they can unearth a Jamie Vardy or Stuart Pearce but it turns out they are a Steve Scoffham!
