Charles to be proclaimed king in first televised ceremony
Charles III will formally be proclaimed king at 10:00 BST on Saturday in a ceremony at St James's Palace.
It will be the first time the Accession Council is televised.
Charles became king automatically at the moment his mother died, so the council proclamation will be a ceremonial one.
It will be attended by Privy Councillors (a group made up of senior politicians), the Lord Mayor of the City of London, and other senior officials.
Flags will fly at full mast for 24 hours to honour the new king, before returning to half mast.
I respect that some see things differently but really it's just a chance to talk about themselves not about the event itself
" I'm a vegan"
" I'm republican"
Etc etc
Not about the topic and not about respect just a chance to talk about themselves
Elite Pie, how's things pal? Yes I easily recall you and actually have seen your postings of late on other topics elsewhere. Your lot have had a decent start to the season with four wins and three draws and sat third in the table, well done so far.
On reflection I recall your regular respected visits on here yet it seems so long ago now. I was once ridiculed by some that use to post on here, when I remember making a stand against County by charging home fans a fiver but us visiting Millers £20. I did along with some other mates go and sit in your family stand, it's only when we scored and we jumped up celebrating, that we were asked to leave which we did without any fuss or trouble. Just trying to prove a point thats all.
You're right about our footballing clubs going in opposite directions. It's our current Chairman we have to be grateful of, for our existence in the league. Had he not stepped in when he did, lord knows where we'd be now. Couple that to Evo and our current super Manager Warney, we have done really well over the last few years.
The last game I attempted to get to a few years ago at yours was the FA Cup game where we won 3-0 but, I got stuck at work up in Leeds and couldn't get there, shame. We didn't get much further though as per our cup runs.
Good luck for the season pal and who knows, we may well meet up in the leagues again someday, however, you've got some leagues to climb first though![]()
As a bit ot Princess Anne. What a woman, doesn't get any stick from the papers, basically because she would get them by the throat.
At no stage have I expressed disrespect for Charles other than saying that he will never be able to compare to the Queen for me. Hardly controversial. If you re-read I've not expressed a bad thing about him.
Also, your last sentence is a bit of a daft comparison. My family isn't claiming that they're divinely selected to be superior to you and your family and that they should be entitled to your unquestioning servitude and loyalty, as well as entitled to be paid millions every year from working-class people while living life as billionaires.
If my family business were to claim all those things and reap all the benefits of such a ridiculous system you'd probably have a few choice words to say if you hadn't been brainwashed into thinking it was a good idea.
Again, I've expressed no disrespect to any of the individuals involved on a personal level. Just to the ridiculous notion that they are in some way superior to everyone else.
