I'm not so sure, but even if it was booed is that really a reason to cancel all football even down to under-6 level?

If it did happen (and personally I don't think it would) then people can make their own judgement on Liverpool fans. I'm pretty sure some form of tribute to the queen will take place when Liverpool next play at Anfield, as I'm sure it will at Meadow Lane on Tuesday. If we postpone games on what might happen, we won't see the season out.

I'd guess they couldn't be selective about it. Either they cancel some football matches and be accused of being inconsistent, or cover their tracks and cancel the whole lot.

Secondly, Tuesday night is Champions League, not something the FA have any control over so they or the Premier League wouldn't be in any shape or form in the dock for what happens, it's solely on Liverpool.

I have to say I would have thought all sport would have been cancelled this weekend so very surprised it wasn’t, I’ll buck the trend and say well done the Football authorities for cancelling the football, (but I agree local / kids shouldn’t have been). What this Thread has highlighted is how dependent some are on 90 minutes of pleasure/ torture on a Saturday afternoon regardless of what happens in life.

Complete and utter bollox. What this thread has highlighted is that some don't like being told by the authorities how they should grieve, when they should grieve, and how long they should grieve for.

Especially when "the authorities" all see it differently.

If Liverpool fans, or anyone else, boo the national anthem or the minute’s silence, aren’t they just exercising their freedom of speech which is normally so important to right wing types?

    Yes they are.

On the flip side of that, Liverpool shouldn't start crying about how everybody jumps to conclusions the next time they find themselves in bother. If people don't like you as a club (see Millwall) then it's perfectly natural that your reputation for being undignified/yobbish etc. is going to be one step ahead of the truth.

Ideally, we wouldn't have a minute's silence at all and get on with the game, then there's no risk of upsetting anyone, pro or anti- monarch.

So they can’t exercise their freedom of speech without being branded ‘yobbish’?

People jumped to conclusions about Hillsborough and were wrong. People jumped to conclusions about the CL final this year and were wrong. Maybe the lesson is that people should just stop jumping to conclusions regardless of any other factors.

Probably not on point one. People will make their own minds up as they see fit.

Yes you're absolutely right on point two, though you missed out Heysel, but I personally think they were wrongly blamed for that too and that Juve fans and UEFA played a big part, but that isn't a popular opinion and maybe I'm biased.
