I accept everyone is entitled to their opinion on the monarchy, but surely during a period of mourning, they could manage to keep those opinions to themselves.
For me, it's not about whether my life would be better (why would royalty impact on my personal life?), it's the principle of having a head of state who is afforded great privilege based on birth not merit and there being an expectation of subservience should I ever cross that person's path.

I also strongly believe that no-one needs to 'keep their opinions to themselves'. We can all be respectful to each other whilst vehemently disagreeing. That doesn't mean keeping quiet.
