Those poor folk all about to lose their jobs. What a great friendly airport this is.....what a shame.

When RAF Finningley closed, the airforce personal housing was used to accommodate refugees, I was working near the base. Bloke I worked with, his wife worked for Donny Council looking after them. Council laid coaches on for them to take em to Curry's, Dunholme etc, for them to pick their white goods, this, bedding etc, the shops were closed to general public when refugees visited shops all labour councils gave refugees £10 a week to put on their mobile phones. Mates wife called out many times early hours of mornings by police, refugees in Donny night clubs fighting, I told her she should have left them to stew, with her living in Gainsborough & going to cop shop at around 3am in a morning.

There's talk of a gypsy holiday caravan site but I don't think it'll take off.

Well they did build on Poppyfields in Auckley next to Finningley, turns out some Donny councillors got time, the land should have not been built on, money talks.

Built on a burial ground? Wonder what Poppy's family thought about that

The whole saga reminds me of the argument you get about closing libraries. Folks want them to stay open but don’t go in them

Same with DSA, Tui fly out of there and Wizzair.

Yes some use those services but Jet 2 and others won’t fly out of there so for your average holiday it’s pay the higher prices of Tui or fly from Leeds Bradford or East Midlands to get the better deals

A restricted ‘ menu’ and folks don’t want to dine there
