Maybe some of the ex Miners on here will be able to clarify, but wasn't "Black ********" also a term hurled at coppers during the strike?

A friend of mine who's a bobby up Fev area says he gets called that by the locals to this day. He wasn't even born when the strike happend and he's whiter than an albino jar of mayo with silvertop milk poured over it

Was that because they were "blacklegs" or did the miners mistake dark blue for black?

Cannon and Ball were "The Boys in Blue" not the "The Boys in Black" after all (that came out in 1982 as well, not long before the strike), and it it's "The Thin Blue Line".

......scab was a naughty word,( well for some). Lots of our fans used to shout it at Notts County/ forest, and most of them weren't born then.

There are many football songs that can be thought of ( by the wokes ) as “vile”

    If I had the wings…..etc

    Who ate all the pies…etc

I hear the sound of distant….etc

    You’re just a small town in….
