The Islamic Ottoman Empire was considerably more tolerant of other religions than European Christian -particularly Catholic -ones were but BS is right to point out that current extremist branches of Islam are dangerous and pose a significant threat if not dealt with. These branches are exceptionally intolerant of other religions and cultures -particularly Western ones-and do indeed aim to grow their numbers in order to increase their foothold and power in Europe and we should be very mindful of this.
I would lump extreme atheism in with that lot. Brutal interpretation of sound scientific principles.
Religion isn't the issue, it's human interpretation, nothing else.

I don’t think you can tar all of them in the same way. There are some real scumbags out there and what we saw in Rotherham care homes etc, unforgivable. They may have been pakistani and muslim but that alone you can’t pin point to as the reason for those crimes. A sick criminal is a sick criminal, they may tag on to some religion and that’s what they’ll do.

Being an atheist (or agnostic if you like) I despise all religions as I just think it’s outdated and a form of control. No offence to anyone religious.

Before the care home incidents happened here, in India there was a gang rape of some woman. Now would you tar those indians and their religion in the same way as you have above?

Could you say black American muslims are into grooming? Probably not. Here in the UK there’s other factors at play.. criminals and gangs etc who will prey on vulnerable people. Same as what is going on in India and perhaps the south asian region.

You may have something against pakistanis in the UK and I can see why. I’ve seen both the good and bad from people of this background and i’m so glad I can suss them out well in advance having been scammed by one in the past. But does that make me stereotype them? No.

Back when I used to live in West Brom I used to play footie in the Asian tournament, great fun and atmosphere at Sandwell Valley. I always recall some sikhs having a stall, giving away free food. And I mean free amazing food. Some of my close friends from school are sikhs and they’ve become religious after a wedding but they’ve tend to have distance themselves a little. But nevertheless i’ve noticed it’s deeply routed in the sikh religion to be very charitable, and they are absolutely amazing and do some much here in the UK. However back in college i’ve also witness some that we’re not nice. My point is you get your fair share within all races and religions and circumstances they are in.

Totally agree with you Regis there are good and bad in every race! In many races kids don’t get drunk at 14 or girls don’t open their legs like many whites and they have stricter values. I know a few Indian families who work their socks off day and night to send their kids to private school as they feel a great education is the best gift you can give a child. Good for them as money is tight but clearly a priority to them!! This is why it annoys me when idiots like Kane and Southgate try and preach to Qatar about the way people should be treated. Nothing to do with us and there’s so many things other countries could say to us to improve on our own values!

The problem with religion is ancient teachings creating unshakeable convictions that it is right and dutiful, combine that with mankind's innate tribalism and need to dominate to survive. We could co-exist peacefully but there is a stated aim of extreme Islam to take over the population by whatever means deemed necessary and the extremists are large in number. Not all muslims are violent but all will subscribe to those values or be considered a heretic/apostate, I greatly admire the women in Iran and the men that support them in rising up against this oppression. Iran was once a liberal country as was Afghanistan until men turned both into sh1th0les - the same will happen here based on birthrates.

At least science can be updated by future discoveries.

In fairness I think there was a mixture of lots of beer n conversations with mates who are actually very well versed on historical events that started off my thoughts and posting after chats in pubs and too many beers is not a good idea

I totally agree that you can’t taint everyone with the same brush

But I stand by the fact that Islam doesn’t feel that any level of secularism (living with other religions) is acceptable in the way that Sikhism or other religion in 2022 do

I don’t feel we can dispute the fact that there is a huge majority in that community that feel by having the numbers they can achieve what they want and that is by procreating as much as they can

Also I stand by the fact that Islam does teach that people not following their way are sub human or lesser, which leads to people who want to use this as an excuse for grooming, drugs etc

But yeah I’ll go with with what some are saying a lot of interactions you will have had with Muslims were great and they wouldn’t have shown this side because who in their right mind would ?
But that doesn’t mean that it’s not an aim and politeness lead to so many people not being charged or investigated for things when then should have been

Also look at history and events everyone else is second class there is always a togetherness that forms when required
