Exactly and he’s not worried about our tiky tak football where we have scored as many goals as them and he’s certainly not that worried that he’s needs to pay to watch us to see how we’re doing.

End of the day it's 3 points and grab another 6 before Rectum play again will put the pressure back on them. I see they're worried that if Mullins picks up an injury they'll struggle. Lets hope Sheffield Utd get a little physical in the FA Cup match tomorrow.
Think we can expect more of same "tactics" at home, teams just try to stop us scoring and we have to find ways to overcome packed defences. There were a number of times today calling for the ball to go over the top of their back line to give Macca a chance to run on to it. You could see his frustration on one occasion.

Their attacking performance however gets 0/10, and that's being generous because they didn't even try.
I have to disagree with Elite with his 0/10 rating.
They came at us in the last 5 minutes with generous corner and free kicks given by the officials.
    1/10 for me ....!

Same here. I suspect it’s a generational thing. Growing up with nothing but uncle Colin, you get so used to the sudden tangents and the familiar style.
Charlie is very different and good luck to him, but I’d much rather listen to DB now.

Halifax although looking very poor today, do have a miserly defensive record, and even allowing for their Yeovilesque tactics, play that game another ten times and we win all ten but by by at least three each time. I thought only poor finishing and bad luck stopped us scoring at least five. We played with a much higher tempo today than against Boreham Wood, and in doing so I cannot see teams being able to blank us as Yeovil did.
After todays cameo from JJ, it will be interesting to see how, and if he can fit into the starting eleven. I think he will at least give Ruben some competition for his place
Obviously bessies LW and JB must have had a lovers tiff lol

I expect most teams would also try spoiling the attacks of Wrexham too but Wrexham and oursevles are where we are because we have found ways to outplay such defensive tactics.

I too saw Langstaff's jumping up and down in frustration, he could have done it more as he was regularly on the shoulders of their defender, running left and right and waving for the ball which rarely came to him.

Pleased to see Chesterfield get bounced yesterday, couldn't happen to a nicer club.

He’s solid, absent minded etc…just like Colin was.
It was a bit strange at first when Dave Bracegirdle first started commentating on Notts (almost like trying on a new pair of shoes) but then most of us have only ever known the two Slaters and the odd stand in. I echo your sentiments though and think he’s now settling into the role really well and is likeable for the reasons you state. A different style to Charlie Slater as you say and has that familiarity of Uncle Colin. For me he should get the job full time at the end of the season if Charlie Slater is moving onto other things.

I think Wrexham have a clear advantage over us when playing teams who park the bus. Wrexham don’t need to rely on playing well as they have scoring options from throw ins and set pieces. We don’t have that option. Not a criticism as it’s the way we play, but they have more scoring options than us.

Yet they’ve scored no more goals than us albeit playing one game less. I don’t think we can do anything else if they are going to sit back for literally 85 mins. What are Wrexham going to do different other than long throws? Theres not much point going long as there going sit back at eat it up and IF you win the second ball somewhere around the edge of the box it’s no different to us getting there by passing as their already sat deep anyway. That said I would have liked to see a couple of balls clipped over for Langstaff, the only issue the ball and the run has to be perfect with them sitting deep.

Jones looked good when he came on, fingers crossed he can have a great impact on the season.
Yes I think it's something we have to accept that adopting "The Yeovil" as I now call it has become the blueprint for teams certainly within the bottom half of the table coming to Meadow Lane. A draw away from home is the best they believe they can get and is a bonus the rest is damage limitation. As someone mentioned it's almost like a continuation of the previous game except the oppositions kit is a different colour compared to the last game.

Dover were a prime example of this last season as you say adopting the low block which at times was a 6-3-1 formation with a pacy young lad up top as an outlet. On the occasions they did get out of their half he was the one that drove them forward on a counter attack.

The thing is teams know we are a very good footballing side. They can try to play our game but know that we are far superior so they will not be able to match us and they will get punished. That's not an arrogance by the way it's the style way we play and the quality we have. Also they know that we will dominate possession. We win the psychological aspect of the game as well because chasing and pressing takes up a lot of effort and energy, and it grinds teams down and they become demoralised because they have nothing to show for their efforts.

So yes some teams will be happy to come away with a 0-1 or 0-2 because it's about self preservation and also protecting their goal difference.

Yesterday was another one of those games where we could have scored 4 or 5 but we just lacked that killer pass in the box. Also a couple of decisions were not quite the right ones when in and around the oppositions box. We were not as clinical as we can be.

To be having conversations about winning and needing more goals to go back to top and not being top having lost once in 28 matches just shows how insane this season is and how high the standard is that both ourselves and Wrexham are setting for each other. We are basically motivating and pushing each other for more. Just look at the other leagues above. If we were in League Two we would be 10 points clear of second place. In League One and the Championship 7 points clear of second place.

In all the professional leagues in England there is only us, Wrexham and Burnley on +60 points.
