Thread: Sunderland Post Match Thoughts

Tuesday night made all the many defeats in the championship bearable.
One of reasons I enjoy being a Rotherham fan is when we play at this level we are the underdogs.
This league is full of very talented footballers and big teams, and I love the fact that little old Rotherham is there mixing it up with them, and sometimes showing them how to do it.
It would be great to be become an established championship club as we still be little Rotherham ,which would suit me fine.

When i first started going to football games(MANY many moons ago)The Millers were a fixture in the 2nd division as it was then and i used to enjoy watching the likes of John Galley.Frank Casper,Barry Lyons etc when my beloved BLADES wern't playing. It was fun trying to get in at the Railway end of Millmoor under the fencing with out paying. Yeah i was a tight git even in my younger days.I hope the Millers stay up and that we manage to get promoted. UTB

One thing I forgot to mention was I thought Sunderland's crossing of the ball, both from set pieces and open play, was outstanding they rarely wasted it and nearly always put it into really good areas and we had to be on our toes all the time. UTM

Back in the 1970s, when Rotherham weren't playing I would often go to Bramall Lane and this was when you had the likes of Len Badger, Eddie Colquoun John Flynn Geoff Salmons, Alan Woodward and Tony Currie playing for you in a 3 sided ground.
I saw some terrific games including the one when you put 5 past Arsenal and Tony Currie sat on the ball to take the p!ss out of Alan Ball who had done the same thing when they beat you at Highbury.
Nearly all my mates are Blades fans and they call me the only Miller in the village......but they've not been too cocky about that this season 🤭.

Me & my mate did same Mellowmiller, went to watch the Blades, if we didn't follow Rotherham in away games,
but we did it in the 1960's.

Contractors working next door to me today, one was a young-un, he looked fed up, so I said whats up old
c*ck does tha support wrong football team, so bloke in charge asks who I supported, I said the Millers
from 9 years old, he said he was a Blades fan, I said I like the Blades, he said, I bet tha does, I said
well ar we did take 4 out of 6 points off you this season.

Start with Barry Lyons was my 1st millers hero think of Towner with a few goals that's how good he was.

Said after the Coventry game tues MT tweaked it abit alot better. Whose going to replace Hall? It didn't work with BW & Humphreys together at centre back I think Peltier will move across Harding at right back. Really pleased for MT he stands on his area every game for the 90 mins + most games will be hard work when we get the result/performance we're looking for makes up for the set backs.

Yes i was at that Arsenal game, absolutely brilliant.TC is and always will be my favrit footballer, when i was at school and they asked was my religion C of E,i replied no T of C. The Millers have done well against us this season and they deserved to beat us at BDBL,in the match at Rovrum i thought both sides were poor in the final 3rd and a draw was probably a fair result.
