Praying for something that is beneficial to yourself is frowned upon BDB so I will do it for you... I don't know when he performed his last miracle though tbf

Yes Chalky, she always went to chapel with her Grandma when she was a child and she was going until she was in her late 90s. The chapel is restarting coffee mornings that were stopped during covid and I’m intending taking her so she can see her old friends and congretionalists. We’re working on the vicar to get him to go into the home and hold services. Mum is a stayer - she was in the town choir from when she was 15 until she was 90.

I was sent to Sunday school when I was a kid and was bored stiff. I did the non-conformist version of confirmation and was then told that I HAD TO go to chapel and I didn’t like that. I had no mates there, just old people telling me what I had to do and believe. Even at age 12 I could see through what I was being told so started regarding it as a waste of my time. I was a stubborn sob and started questioning stuff in RE at school such as “please sir, what do you mean the thoughts of our heart. We think with our brain don’t we?” The answers became more and more desperate and I became more and more cynical. I suppose that hasen’t stopped.

I have no idea where the hymn came from. I mentioned it too her and she hasn’t a clue either. Deep in her memory I suppose.

By the sounds of it your parents wasn't as harsh as mine then because if I had behaved like that I would have got it when I got home plus our Rev was very a scary bloke who seemed to shout even when talking,I should have stopped going when I left home at 16 I suppose but it was to late by then as I was a part of the flock, the ideals of what I was taught back in the 60's and 70's I stick to even today even though some haven't aged well most have got me through life

Research has shown that praying works.

Looks like my first prayer for Dale was listened to BDB,how about you having a whip round for me at Spotland and I shall continue the praying once I've got the cash in
