Had a coach from Dunfermline today at the match who praised the way the kids are on the ball especially knocking it out from the back. He said we were far more accomplished with our ability with the ball at our feet than the vast majority of the big clubs he has seen. Really impressed with us.
It’s only 4 matches into the season though…quite a few of these kids are real class. Even my own son who is only 11 can do over 240 keepie-ups. Hopefully one of these wee guys play for Aberdeen one day but too many of the central belt clubs hoover up the talent here. Aberdeen are nowhere to be seen!
When I was your boy's age I was good at keepies-up, I could do more than 250 standing on my head (which is even more difficult). But on a football field it didn't count for ****-all because, funnily enough, being able to keep the ball up in the air is not the be-all-and-end-all (exception is Jim Baxter in '67 at Wembley).
