    What does that mean?

His performance today was not lacking in effort. I think he was on the ball more than anybody.
He just failed to execute to his normal standard. That's likely to be a mix of too much adrenalin, nerves, it meaning too much - just overawed basically

Let's hope Ruben has his shooting boots on next week, though. Was anyone confident he was going to score that penalty after his three misses in the first half? I was definitely expecting him to miss.

Am I right in saying that the only outfield player who hasn't scored for us this season is Brindley?

I've had 45 years as a Notts fan and I've never experienced anything like the atmosphere in the ground for the second and third goals. Apologies if everyone's already posted Charlie Slater's reaction, but I'd love to make this my new ringtone:

I'm not good at allocating marks but agree Jodi did make a big difference. Nemane could have done the same but spurned the opportunities though brilliant recovery to save a goal and I though Chicksen could have done better throughout. Macca had a big lump hugging him for most of the match, I'm sure I saw them swap phone numbers.

Things didn't work for Rodrigues, hope the powers that be can sort it out for next week.

Hope not, because that doesn't bode well for Saturday.

I think it'll bring about an adjustment in his mindset.
For one thing, he'll be desperate to make it up to his team mates - he'll be feeling guilty tonight and all week I'm sure.

I'm thinking Ricky Villa in the 2nd FA Cup Final v Man City

You know what I mean and it doesn't take much of a distraction at top levels for performances to drop despite effort. But yes, trying to hard is a more plausible explanation and hopefully LW will have dinner with him and get him in the right head space for next week. Everyhone wants to see him turn on the magic that can grace Wembley. COYP.

No, I'm really not sure. I've got an idea what you might be insinuating but that would be totally unfair on a player who has given his absolute all for Notts for 3 years and is so obviously committed to the cause.

We're not talking Ian Burchnall here

I think I was more upset at Rubes continual appealing to the bench to be taken off… fair enough if he was really carrying an injury but hurt pride don’t count Rubes. Man up for the next game chap … you’re better than that!

I honestly believe he’s the difference between winning and losing on Saturday.

He's way better than he showed today, let's hope he's saving it for Wembley.
After his man to man marker got booked after 30 odd mins I couldn’t understand why we didn’t give him more of the ball.
Also If I can find LWs email or phone num, please tell the lads to stop putting the Arsenal offside arm up, if it’s close the Lino will flag whatever he decides but more importantly you keep missing the deep runner who’s nowhere near offside, it’s absolutely criminal.

It was a definite worry, one of the absolute basics of being a footballer is that you play to the whistle. At least three times today we either stopped with an arm in the air or switched off and allowed them a chance.
