I'd say Wednesday would be my least favourite, probably only because one of our close friends husband is a Wednesday fan and hes really annoying with it, one of those that wants to talk football when you see him for god knows how long, but when i say talk he wants to talk, he has not interest in what anyone else has to say and what he says is usually utter *******s. If they go up when i see him it will be very painful.

That said putting my sensible head on Wednesday should be my choice as they are the ones i'd expect to be the biggest threat next season so getting rid of them would be the best thing.

With regard to the EFL "mid-term review", I posted elsewhere that it needs to happen now. One poster replied that it took place last month and there is no change. Had we gone up there would have been movement on the wage front.

No idea if that's true but thought I'd share the info.

Thats not what Warne is saying publicly, the scenario is that Derby are preparing a business plan for next season, it was obvs dependent upon which division they would be in, this will then be discussed with the EFL and agreed.

The mood music and it is no more than that, is that Derby have operated well within the current business plan this season, that Clownes has worked hard to develop a good working relationship with the EFL and they recognise he is taking a sustainable approach and that a revised business plan which will be more flexible will be agreed.

I would expect matters will become clear within the next couple of weeks.

The penalty decision was a disgrace, ram, and all the worse because it was such an important game. But it's similarly disgraceful that we're still waiting for one after 46 games. It's ironic that the latest two stone wallers against Peterborough would have seen Derby in the play offs. Still, maybe the last game of the season scenarios are almost as enoyable as the semis, at least as the neutral is concerned.

Is that the case, Barnsley ahve not had a penalty awarded in any game this season? That is a remarkable statistic, perhaps your players are to honest and need to go down in the box more often??

It's all opinion and none is more valid than another. Here's twopennyworth...

Better team but lost. Penalty? not IMO. Soft as they come but Curt took a gamble using his hands/arms on a player inside the box. Player feels the contact and goes down as if he's been poleaxed. Ref buys it and gives the penalty. Red? Not in a month of Sundays but the ref gave it. I can only think he believed it to have been a professional foul (now, there's an oxymoron if ever there was one). Certainly wasn't last man so it can't have been for that.

Had chances to score but didn't. How familiar did that sound. NML was less than average all game. The red card signalled a change to shore up the defence but why did he take Sibs off, who was having a reasonable half both defensively and in an attacking sense rather than NML who was continually caught in possession, offered nothing defensively and was off the pace?

Didn't deserve to lose and the point a draw would have given us would have seen us in the playoffs. Something hardly anybody expected 9 months ago when the season started.

All things considered we've done far better than I expected at the outset. However, having got this far on a broken shoestring of a budget, it's frustrating to have missed out on the lottery and a possible Wembley appearance.

Many are saying they can't wait to see what players arrive/leave. PW will have an idea who he wants in both categories. The loanees will return to their parent clubs although there's half a chance we might get to keep Roberts as his contract runs out and he has yet to get a new offer from Brighton. Can we take him on a permanent? Depends. As a BHA Academy graduate, they might be eligible to receive compo in which case, under the current restrictions, we can't sign him.

This is why the EFL review has to take place NOW. If there are to be any easings of the restrictions, we need to know ASAP. It seems we have kept well within the bounds of the agreement which will please the EFL. DC says he's on good terms with them which is a bonus. Apparently the business plan was drawn up budgeting for average gate of 17K. We are >10K above that so the coffers should be well stocked. So, what are the possibilities?

1. A complete lifting of restrictions? Not going to happen IMO. It would send out the opposite signal to that which the 2 year plan on exiting Admin is based.

2. As is. IMO a distinct possibility.

3. Some easing of restrictions for the 2nd year of the plan? Not impossible. If there was to be any easing, I can see 3 possible areas which could be eased. Maybe 1, maybe 2 or all 3. They are a) allowed to spend transfer/loan fees on incoming transfers/loans (I don't think they'll go further than that) b) an increase in the wages cap c) an increase in the total spend allowed, currently £8M. All based on not going into debt in the 2nd year.

This needs sorting now so that PW knows what he has to work with.

The view and admittedly its only views from people I know who are connected in some way to the club, is that option 3 is very likely, a level of transfer fees will be permitted, it won't be linked to player sales, but based on an overall income stream, which for Derby is higher than most clubs in this league.

It's the whitest of white lies. We were given just one pen and that was at Forest Green. But it's barely worth a mention as it was 4-0 with a few minutes left so it hardly mattered. It's like saying you had a salad even though on closer inspection there was a speck of bacon hiding under a lettuce leaf. Other than that that it's one in 45 games so you're right, it's a remarkable statistic. I don't know if Derby players cheat from time to time but maybe you're right and we should do so ourselves. Have a look at the highlights from our Peterborough game and you'll see the first pen appeal is almost laughable. When a goalie takes a wild, lunging, waist length high kick to stop a player, and still you don't get a pen it's time to give up.

The season we were last in the premier league, it did seem to me that the refs gave the decisions for the bigger clubs, but it may be that being played off the park it just seemed that way!

Worst fans of others clubs I know

Forest fans I know, mostly dicks.
Leicester fans I know, refused to renew season tickets when relegated to league one but lording it when winning PL, makes them dicks.
Man Utd and Liverpool fan I know, live in Derbyshire with no connection to Manchester or Liverpool, makes them dicks.
