I think there's a few people that are forgetting that a stadium expansion benefits from the away support and not just home. Like I said on a previous post, add another tier on east stand and then give some part of the east stand and south to away supporters making about 5k then we would get so many gates well over 14k towards 16k in this division easily.
Only problem I see with the ground is we are about 2k short on capacity. Mainly the away end and that would only be about 10 games per season.
The people can't sit together doesn't wash with me. How many fans are we talking about. 50. 100. 500. Is it worth the chairman spending a few million to get the extra 500 home fans.
The away end last season was only a sell out or close to that for approximately half of the fixtures last season.
Your idea of 5k away supporters is just a pipedream for more than a handful of games and where are the extra 3k Rotherham fans going to come from?
I can only assume you've never been involved in scoping out any capital projects because if they're based on fantasy figures they either fail or end up costing far more than originally estimated.
I wonder why went with 12k in first place, when could have gone with 8k, 9k or 10k.
Not only that but lay foundations for 16k and 20k?
Maybe our design team and management dont scope out many capital projects?
If NYS hold 16k with 5k to away supporters going into this season what would be everyone's guess on the average gate? I reckon we would average somewhere between 11.5k to 12k that would be another 1k on top of last season. Not sure how much more revenue we would make by having an extra 1k or so on top but it's not just this season it's forever so in long run it would benefit.
