Up to now yes, might have been different had we spent longer in L2.

The people can't sit together doesn't wash with me. How many fans are we talking about. 50. 100. 500. Is it worth the chairman spending a few million to get the extra 500 home fans.

If that was the case then it could be solved with no capital outlay by simply limiting away fans to 2k
But as you say the demand doesn’t appear to be there. Perhaps only on Boxing Day, vs the Sheffield clubs and last home match if it’s a key game

We can already accommodate 10.5k home fans but they don’t turn up in those numbers.
We don’t want to give the opponents too much vocal backing either

If NYS hold 16k with 5k to away supporters going into this season what would be everyone's guess on the average gate? I reckon we would average somewhere between 11.5k to 12k that would be another 1k on top of last season. Not sure how much more revenue we would make by having an extra 1k or so on top but it's not just this season it's forever so in long run it would benefit.

Put a reduced price scheme in place if so many season tickets are sold.

At the moment, lets say we sell 10k season tickets, then we are losing income on away tickets which bring in more per ticket. Plus less away fans mean less food and drink sales, as away fans normally drink more than home fans. So less income from catering contracts.

Catering is contracted out. I don't think the club gets any revenue from it. That certainly was the case originally anyway.

Yes but if there are less away fans, then income will likely be less for the catering team, so the amount they want to pay for the contract will be less.

Indeed that would be a fair point
But we haven’t sold 10k season tickets and we usually get 8 -8.5k home fans. So if we can accommodate 10.5k home fans that’s 2000 - 2500 seats for families and mates to sit next to each other

I Acknowledge that we’ve sold perhaps 500 more season tickets this season but there’s still a lot of seats available if the Rotherham public wants them

If the club makes no money from catering then why bother at all? Surely we make some money from concourse sales? Crazy if not.
