Once again you couldn’t resist having a pop at Bostock - get over it we wouldn’t have been promoted without him - fact
I’m wondering if Baj is another Pierce Bird, appears to have some good ability but doesn’t apply himself well enough in training or games.
I hope not and hope it’s just been because of competition/confidence but if he was good as we first expected surely he could slot in the back 3, but he hasn’t covered himself in glory playing there, seems to me he needs some focus but I could be totally wrong.

The thing is no one is saying rip anything up. I said we can still play good football in this league but we need two defenders and to work out how to create chances. That's true, the defence wasn't great last season but we only played around 5 good teams in the league and against those we had mixed results. We have bad goals away all year but most glossed over it and probably forgot that it's a big step up against hungry teams.

We do need to press from the front, as we have seen in our two games so far, Sutton and Lincoln pressed us hard and won the ball back leading to goals. We do need to stop panicking when they cross the ball but we have done this for years. We also need to work out how to create chances against better defences who don't give us time on the ball. Ruben had what 16 assists last season. He's gone so where are they coming from? Nemane can't do it all. Also Jim is still the only midfielder we have in the style he plays.

All posts have said they have confidence in LW to get it right so no one is being dramatic. At the same time confidence is massive in football, can make the same players good or bad. If we lose some more in a row then it'll be a struggle to get rid of that. No one is saying we need to rip up anything and all our players are crap but at the same time we need a stronger defence that doesn't panic, to be more dynamic on the ball before it gets taken off us and to find a way to get Macca more chances. To say otherwise would be wrong.

We just all want a good performance on Saturday, I'd take a draw if the performance is good. No one is doom mongering for the sake of it, people are worried that we look ill equipped in defence this season and don't want to spend another 4 years in non league. No one is having a go at LW or the owners, any posts regarding issues are down to worry and the feeling that sometimes Notts do things the hard way.

As much as I loathe saying anything good about the Red Dogs fans, we need to show the level of support they gave to their team last season. If last season didn't put credit in the bank for our players and management, then nothing will. Saturday is going to be a tough game, and if things do not go our way, from the off, we need to get right behind the lads, with a wall of noise of support. I know it is not in most Notts fans psyche to be positive, (older fans anyway) but creating a negative atmosphere at home games, will only make it more difficult for players, who might be down on confidence to perform.

I understand people having concerns, and airing them, about what they see as our weaknesses, but it would be nice, as 'supporters', if they would give the team/management even four or five games to work on those deficiencies.

I am sure Acquiesce by Oasis is played before and at half time at every home game for a reason, lets believe in each other

I don't know what it is that makes me feel alive
I don't know how to wake the things that sleep inside
I only wanna see the light that shines behind your eyes

I hope that I can say the things I wish I'd said
To sing my soul to sleep and take me back to bed
Who wants to be alone when we can feel alive instead

    Because we need each other
    We believe in one another
And I know we're going to uncover
    What's sleeping in our soul
    Because we need each other
    We believe in one another
I know we're going to uncover
    What's sleeping in our soul
    What's sleeping in our soul

There are many things that I would like to know
And there are many places that I wish to go
But everything's depending on the way the wind may blow

I don't know what it is that makes me feel alive
I don't know how to wake the things that sleep inside
I only want to see the light that shines behind your eyes

    Because we need each other
    We believe in one another
And I know we're going to uncover
    What's sleeping in our soul
    Because we need each other
    We believe in one another
I know we're going to uncover
    What's sleeping in our soul
    What's sleeping in our soul

    What's sleeping in our soul
    What's sleeping in our soul
    Sleeping in our soul
    'Cause we believe
    'Cause we believe
    Yeah we believe
    'Cause we believe
    'Cause we believe
    'Cause we believe
    Because we need
    Because what we need

    This^^^

Ultimately I think Baj will see out his contract and be allowed to leave, and there may well be 1 or 2 others to add to that list.

The problem as I see it is that we aren't getting the very basics right. At this level, most successful teams focus on getting the basics down - being able to defend set pieces and balls into the box, being physically equipped for the battle, being well-organised and disciplined at the back. Once that foundation is set, you can start to build on top of it with flair and skill.

We're trying to master a style of play that no other team has ever really tried at this level, and all without having a solid foundation on which to try and be adventurous. As a result, the whole house has the tendency to collapse.

Get the basics right first, then think about the fancy stuff - not the other way round.

Only if we get less than a point a game. What I meant is we might have to accept we might not be anywhere near the promotion or play off places this side of Christmas while we find our feet. If we can win one, draw one and lose one in every three games from now until Christmas we will be mid table with 30 points at the half way mark.

Nobody knows it's far too early to tell. But one thing is certain it's at home where we need to focus on getting those wins, and that will only happen if we stick behind this team, give them the support they have earnt and deserve and be the 12th man. Turning on them so early on will have no positive impact. Of course they need to give us something to shout about, but again it's about being patient.

Of course you will as long as its Bostock,Nemane,McGoldrick or Stone
No I was encouraging and supporting them when we won leagues and promotions and suffered relegations.
Having played football and managed football teams as well as managing people in a workplace I have found its better to encourage and try to help them rather than abuse and boo them and yields better results
Got to go now to fetch my rose tinted specs, the suns getting in my eyes
