The recruitment of free transfers at low level football is the indictment of the failure of the model irrespective of your views about the ability of said recruits .

By lumping the recruitment of Schopp with the same recruitment process of Collins you are airbrushing Paul Conway out of the Barnsley history books.

Saying we are where we are now in League 1 with no money in the bank for players is airbrushing Paul Conway out of the Barnsley history books.

Now I know you don’t intend to do this because you have said you arn’t a fan of Paul Conway - but it’s sometimes difficult to see where you have drawn the line.

The directors have said that they have had to reset - and they have gone on to say as far as they are concerned this is ‘year one’ of their leadership.

Most of us have been saying how good players like Lopata, Cotter, McAtee, O’Keffe and Shepherd are.
IMO these players could play at a higher level.
They suddenly haven’t become bad players.
You only have to watch how the tactics of the team is playing out to understand where the fault lies.

Hold thi horses Nudge, these players ent yit proven themselves at league 1 level. It's just blind faith saying they could laik at a higher level at this moment in time. Give it while end of season then we'll ev a clearer picture of where these lads are at.

You beat me to it Pass! How in your opinion YN, can you believe they could play at a higher level?
Lopata 4 games at League one level, Shepherd 2, Macatee 3 and Cotter 16.
Even Guardiola couldn't predict players could make it after so few.games?

Yesterday Barnsley had 69% of the possession which was the most we've had all season by a long way but we couldn't score a goal. The first time that we've drawn a blank on the opposition net in the league all season.
Its what you do with it though Pass. Watching it Saturday ( and not sure if it was heard on the telly) the crowd were getting very agitated at the constant back, and sideways passing, when we were 0-1 down. Wasn’t pretty. They seriously looked devoid of ideas at times.

As Pass has alluded to your blind faith hasn't met with reality yet , a couple of warm days don't constitute an Indian Summer .

Total wing and a prayer this summer's recruitment .

Well IMO I haven’t seen a better set of players in this league.
But of course tippy tappy football along the back line isn’t going to win you many games.

The recruitment team must be pulling their hair out.
They set the system of playing.
And then recruit players that can play that system.
Only for the head coach to undermine the whole set up.
Khaled has got to intervene here and lay it on the line to Collins how Barnsley play.

Well we must be watching different games! I have seen 3 Better sets of players: Portsmouth, Oxford and Peterborough!
They play on the front foot, as a TEAM (for each other) and have good managers who set them up well tactically.

Something we don’t do or have!

The last thing we want is Khaled or any other board member telling a professional manager of our club how to play on the pitch , there should be no interference at all , it is a results business & the boards job is to provide the tools for the job , it is then the managers job to use these tools to the best of his ability & if things are not working out then it is time to talk , if things are going well then let him get on with his job & if they are not then let him explain why & then take steps to rectify the situation , until then do not interfere .
