I concur with a lot of anticlough's views, an outsider viewing the match day thread would not expect us to be top or even near the top. It's far easier to moan, and let's be honest if you are negative then as a fan of a traditional struggling lower league club you are going to be right more often than not. Although this season and last its been a very tough task, thankfully.
If you are looking for more fair criticism then a club specific message board is not the place to look, I find the criticism on more general league based forums (some excellent ones out there) far more accurate and fair from fans of all clubs. Less extreme.
That would be my suggestion.
Some very good points made. I can't say for sure it is because they care more as that's impossible to judge but they are definitely more emotive and certainly more reactionary to perfomances and match results and are quick to comment during and straight after a game. Nothing wrong with knee jerk reactions that's what radio 5's 606 is all about. It's what football message boards are all about they have just replaced the footy chat post game in the pub. 606 want the emotionally charged to celebrate or more likely moan about their club, player, manager.
Also agree that there is a common trend from some who's comments show a clear uncomfortableness of how we play the game, let's be honest we aren't renowned in our history for flowing patient passing intricate football. These more historic views of football and the way we play often come across as negative moaning comments when it's really just outdated. I can't see them ever changing as too set in their ways.
We fans should criticise when things are good enough , even when the opportunity has been so very limited under Williams, I try to adopt a stand back and look approach and the league table, the home attendances table, the top scorers table etc are easy and convenient barometers and I try to keep them in mind after watching the game.
