I was really commenting on the 'they' thing above, which suggests that you think a 'fair' percentage of the population will be confused because she's the 'wrong' colour or ethnicity.

The 'they' that I encountered yesterday, 'salt of the earth' folk, don't appear to think that at all, in fact with really isolated exceptions I've not heard that about any of the 'coloured/ethnic' politicians we have or have recently had, any 'dislike' (or on rare occasions 'like') of politicians seems much more focussed on what they have to say. I don't get involved in discussions about politics in the real world but it was an enlightening listen as I forced down my overcooked sausage and chips

    Skeggy, Blackpool or Rhyl?
Fair point I’m sure. My point, which I probably didn’t make very well, is that I don’t think the Tory Party membership will ever vote for the likes of Braverman. Those that fit the description of white, male, dishonest, bombastic, arrogant, slobs appear to tick far more of their boxes these days, hence their liking for Johnson and Farage...imo.

    Hemsby

But your point doesn't hold true, what about Sunak? Last time I looked he was 'coloured', ethnic and from recent immigrant origins.

Norfolk then. Coincidentally the only English county I’ve never been to.

But didn’t the ‘electorate’ of Tory Party membership vote for Truss and then have to back track using all sorts of shenanigans to replace her with Sunak once it rapidly became apparent quite how incompetent (bonkers) she was?

Personally...as far as that particular ‘electorate’ is concerned I suspect they’d still have Johnson back over Sunak. Not suggesting that’s indicative of all Tory voters.

It's enchanting rA, you should visit.

I think I've been to all although if Humberside still exists as an autonomous area, maybe not.

Also think I missed out on Westmorland before it was struck down in 1974, but I believe it's back again this year, so a chance returns

So I’ve heard. Got a friend, wooden boat fanatic, who stays there every year. Don’t know why I’ve missed it, been to Suffolk, but my natural inclination always seems to be to go west.

When you 'Go West' I presume you prefer a 'Village' that's not overcrowded with 'People'!! 😎

I was trying to avoid the ‘W’ word because I know it upsets GP...but my UK coast of choice is the (whisper it!) mid Welssssh one. There and the Gower.

P.S. I think Humberside has now largely reverted to being the East Riding of Yarksheer, GP...so you might not like it.

And the Tory members rejected him as leader and still do! Wider dedicated Tory voters would vote for a Donkey if it was standing as a Tory!

That was the parliamentary party, i.e. the MP's if it had been in the hands of the Tory membership they would have voted Johnson back in!!
