Thread: Choose your next Manager

    Pearson...please no.
Wilder good shout, but I'm pinning my hopes on Mr Lampard.
Bet he'd get some quality youngsters in.

The best manager we could attract at that point, with all due respect to him, was Matt Taylor. We're probably all living on another planet discussing some of the names we are doing considering the position we're in at the minute.

The reality is that we don't actually know whether any of the information in the public domain is factually correct.
Some names mentioned in the press are due to idle journalism.
Some names will be genuine and made public because an agent has thrown his clients hat into the ring, via the press.
The only people who really know who has applied or who the RUFC directors would like to approach are the RUFC directors themselves.
Everybody else, including me, can post their opinions.
These opinions could be considered, or otherwise, but they are probably not based on any factual information.
We need to just sit tight and wait for the official club announcement.

    Very true.
Let's hope we don't have to wait too long so the "I don't want him" brigade can light up this board again with their in-depth knowledge 😉

Eustace for me already said. If not Ainsworth he can work on a low budget I'm not bothered if it's not pretty make us harder to beat.

Probably they were too much of a footballing side for his style of management. We're not so more chance it could work here.

There’s a few already mentioned I’d like, but as also aforementioned it may well come down to who wants to take on what is a not inconsiderable task - that said, we have seen flashes of what this side is capable of - if only that can be formed into more consistency and resilience

I totally agree. If you were Rowett or Eustace, would you fancy it? I certainly wouldn't. I'm not sure Wilder would either. And even if any of them did, wages would most likely be a stumbling block.

As much as he's disliked on here, there's a case to be made for Ainsworth. No doubt he'd get us playing the "Rotherham way" that people on here like to talk about and he'd most likely be affordable. I think he's the sort of character who would relish the challenge.
