Well you usually have decent inside info so it seems as though it’s imminent

I often see comments suggesting that TS "runs our club brilliantly" but think that is a much too limited view.
There is no doubt that he runs the financial aspects of the club exceptionally well and that we just about live within our means because of the generous support via his other business. It has often been said that the club would have gone under without TS's prudent guidance and I have no issue with that from a financial point of view.
However, where I think we are severely lacking is that we are essentially a one man band surrounded by a number of senior people who seem extremely comfortable in their jobs but appear to have zero influence in driving change.
So much of what goes on behind the scenes comes across as amateurish, lethargic and old fashioned and I fear that is a significant hindrance to achieving the radical restructuring of the club that MT said he was brought in to do. He never stood a chance and neither will anyone else
Yes we may get a new manager who may win a few more games, he may even keep us in the Championship but in reality nothing will have changed. The same inertia and problems will still be there and it's not all because of the size of the budget.
I look back at Kenny Jacket a very well respected coach in the football world walking out on us, I think T/S wanted too much for very little, we didn’t have a training ground at the time, N/W didn’t want the job he said it’s a3yr project to build us in to a Championship club not a team but a club.Nothing’s changed & again we are looking at a quick fix.We laugh at Watfords carousel of managers.

The manager before Taylor was here for like 5 years. Feel free to ignore that though, as it doesn't tally with your narrative.

I agree and the ironic thing is, if we had been relegated last season and now playing our football in L1, Matt Taylor would probably still be manager!

Going to NYS is literally like going to a library these days so in the hope we could get back to winning ways (in L1 I guess but hopefully Championship) and have an atmosphere again I vote Yes to him coming back. I would think any lazy arses would get theirs kicked if they weren’t playing for the shirt so that too would be an improvement.
Excellent post PeteWaller, if anyone can reignite the flames of passion at NYS, Steve Evans can.

But what did we build in 5yrs, nothing. That’s why we are a yo yo club. T/S was happy with P/W because he didn’t rock the boat he wasn’t called Oliver but he soon jumped ship when he had the chance. If we go down there are some big teams in Lge1 it could be a long time before we get back.

Paul Davis has just posted an article saying it’s unlikely the new manager will in place for the Leeds game.

My point was that he was given time. The inference that we are a carousel of a club, like Watford, was harsh in that respect. Taylor wasn't because where were we heading? With what core? Short term survival is acceptable with an aging squad because it gives us the luxury of a windfall next season, failure with an aging squad leaves us with a lack of places to go. Warne didn't back himself into a corner where it felt survival or nothing. Whereas with Taylor it felt like if we went down we would be gutted throughout the spine of the side. And still would be, that's where the squad is.

Warne built a core of a squad that was either sold / moved on for progressive moves, or would then be sold / moved on for those moves. The likes of Crooks, Barlaser, Chieo etc. How we managed them can be debated, but we developed players that could / would go onto something 'better'. Who, in our current squad, is in that similar boat? Who are we developing that will undoubtedly make upwards moves? Viktor and CAM? Both brought in under you know who.

Who have we brought in since Taylor took over that looks at all likely to do that? I honestly can't think of anyone, not right now.

I'm not advocating Warne as better than Taylor, or vice versa, but the circumstances are different. The backing and the expectations as a result of the backing are different. The potential downside is bigger this time.

I'm rambling a bit but yeah.
