Oh yes, we were much safer than we are now, just as we were throughout the 1970s right through to the 1990s when our friends from across the Irish Sea were running riot in the UK. I was involved in dealing with the aftermath of a bomb at RAF Uxbridge in January 1981 which, had it not been discovered by a couple of good friends, would have sent a powerful flame across the main road and would have caused death and damage in the council estate.
