On the True Faith panel tonight were the journos Luke Edwards, Craig Hope, Keith Downie and Mark Douglas.

Edwards, in particular, gets a LOT of stick on social media but he actually speaks incredibly well about us; ditto Craig Hope.

They were all in agreement that everyone was gobsmacked by Tonali's press conference before the Milan game. He spoke to the Italian journos, in Italian (but as part of the main press conference so the English-speaking journos were there) , for 2 or 3 minutes. They said it was like a cry for help, that he felt lost and that he'd basically been forced out. It definitely didn't sound like he came here because he wanted to.

However, they were in agreement that Howe's treatment of him has been fantastic and it's had a positive effect on the player. Keith Downie has watched him train 3 times since the ban (and obviously saw him before) and said it's been like a weight has lifted off his shoulders.

I’ve just watched the lads training before the Everton game, on nufc tv and Tonali was there, training, and tbh he looked happy, smiling, different to how he was before being found out. I think that has been partly to blame for his sullen look, and average performances.. I expect to see a completely different player once the ban is over, the one who Eddie fell in love with.
