I think that's probably the case.
When Viktor signed a new contract (which was to everyone's surprise) he said it was because the club had taken him on when nobody else was interested so he had stated what he wanted and the club had agreed.
Apart from his salary requirements there would certainly have been other contractual requirements of which a release clause would surely have been a certainty.
When we go down we must sell him. He owes the club nothing and deserves the opportunity to develop his career at a higher level.
