Forgetting party politics as such for a mo, Rishi dropped a massive ******* yesterday, no excuse for his actions yesterday even if he has apologised.

I have little time for people who don’t demonstrate, or don’t get, British values, and there are a lot of all shapes sizes and colours, looks like Rishis on the list

Agree, huge own goal. They were supposed to stop campaigning yesterday and it appears he's left early to do an interview which will no doubt be campaigning in some degree

Not entirely sure what you mean by ‘British values’, but all that really matters is that it’s further evidence of Sunak’s lack of judgement and fitness for office.
First the National Service nonsense, then the Tuesday debate lies and now this totally disrespectful and avoidable own goal.
He’s nothing but a glorified hedge fund manager and I suspect there’ll be a lot more to come out about that before this campaign is over.

Its amusing how someone so stupid thinks they aren't, deluded or what?
you really are a nob aren't upi?
I posted months ago, YOUGOV themselves admitting most of their clients are of left bias,
But hey ho, coming from a man who'd argue it wasn't raining, when drenched, I shouldn't be surprised.
Believe what you want, no one seems to give a toss what you rant about either

couldn't agree more. It was unforgiveable apart from a national emergency, The fact he did an ITV interview later showed his selfish ignorance for what it was.
Sack or resign are the only options for him now
He just gave Reform another massive boost.
I can't wait till Reform overtake the Tories in the polls.
Not bad for a party with no money and still breaking out the egg shell

I’m not going too deep into the British values thing because I know it’ll trigger Swale and yourself, beyond the obvious, that you should respect your elders (I’m now ‘old’ but as far I’m concerned that still holds true) and that you should double-respect anyone (of any country) who’s put their life on the line for the sake of this country. I haven’t heard from the serving relative of Mrs F who was at the ceremony (or he may have been at one of the other ones in France) but I guess he’ll be raging

Oh come on, AF, stop being so defensive. I’m just asking and I obviously can’t speak for Swale, but you’re certainly not going to ‘trigger’ me.
I don’t think you’re ‘old’ but I guess it’s all relative…you and I (and Tricky) for instance are all British but have quite different values.
So far you’ve come up with ‘respect your elders’ and those who’ve fought for their country. I don’t think those are peculiarly ‘British’ values…all countries have ways to show respect for the ‘fallen’ and ex servicemen - indeed we seem to be rather better at the former - and I often think that those in Europe seem to have better provision for the elderly than we do in this country.

The term "British values" is used by those who somehow think the "British" are in some way superior to other nations and races!! Otherwise its just a phrase bandied about by people who when asked are unable to define what they mean, as you have so ably demonstrated.

What we should be talking about is upholding the values of civilised human society, which applies transnationally and can be defined easily.

Not entirely sure why a person should be respected purely because of their age? There are as many criminals, deviants and utterly despicable people over the age of 60 as there are under that age. Respect should be based on the actions and behaviour of the individual, not on their nationality, age or other characteristic.

As for Sunak, either he just doesn't "get it" or those running his campaign are either clueless or incompetent.

Not bad for a party that is actually a private company owned and run by the very members of the rich elite it supposedly wants to attack and has no policies or actual clue what it would do in the unlikely event it actually got any power!
