You stick with the Tories on the back of a daft football analogy if you want, but I'm going to pass.
I never said I was sticking with the Tories and I wouldn't say my football analogy is daft.It illustrates that if something/someone is deemed terrible then it doesn't automatically follow that the alternative has to better and what a more relevant analogy to use considering that this is an RUFC Fans Forum!

A story instigated by a billionaire tax avoider, which has been investigated for wrong-doing more than would be usual (no laws or codes breached).

Akshata Murty avoids £20m in tax because of a loophole her CX/PM husband opted not to close, and the author of the Raynor 'story' took an untaxed £150m from his Belizean griefhole because of no greater reason than 'just because'.

This really typifies how our society think. Enamoured by the super wealthy, ignore/condone their ethical voids, and despise others who hurt the public coffers on a far less industrial scale, if at all.

Ethics should play a far greater part in how we select our governments. Sticking with any party (or being against the route to change) because of historic voting intentions seems insane - and more so having witnessed the utter contempt these Tories have displayed in the past few years.

I'm guessing that you prefer public school types?

    Cameron - Eton
    Osborne - St Pauls
    Johnson - Eton
    Kwarteng - Eton
    Sunak - Winchester

It's worked out so well hasn't it? God forbid that a dress wearing Manc should get anywhere near power.

NB - I've left May out of it as she has a strong sense of duty and actually tried to minimise the damage caused by the Brexit vote.

Well I've never personally witnessed a more ramshackle collection of Tory politicians in my life attempting to campaign at a GE .

I've pretty much always disagreed with everything they've ever stood for but none the less they've always fought a good election campaign and something they've repeatedly excelled at .

Generally at election time they come together , bury their differences for a month or two and show a united front .

May's 2017 election campaign was a bit of an abomination but that was simply down to the overconfidence they had with Corbyn as their opponent .

They really haven't a clue this time , almost every day they manage to screw something up .

It's coming through loud and clear to the electorate they've given up , 6-0 down with half an hour still left to play .

Sunak has got to be the worst campaigning Tory PM in UK political history .

I do prefer the best educated politicians and the highest paid we can afford. Clearly you’d prefer a council house scrubber

The question you ought to be asking is why you have to pay to be the 'best educated'.

Quite a few people in this country live in council houses and at a rough guess half of them will be female and I assume will fall within your 'scrubber' category. I think it's quite a good idea to have someone in government who understands how it is to be born without privilege. In fact, I think it's essential.

If you want to confuse 'Eton educated' with being fit to run the country that's ok. Just remember to tug your forelock when you see them.
