I am minded of a book I read in secondary school, although for the life of me I don't remember what it was. But in a futuristic world (maybe 2005!) all people were assessed for particular genetic etc attributes and those with particular advantages were given handicaps so as to level everyone down. I sometimes wonder if that book is now proving prophetic.

I’m sure this is worth discussing, but seeing as the Election Year thread, which was aimed at being a place to discuss the upcoming, at the time, UK and US elections seems now to have become a dumping ground for all things to do with gender issues, the Olympics and rioters, might I suggest that those that wish to start an Olympic/gender issues thread and a rioting/far Right thread do so…allowing this Election thread to concentrate on what it was originally created for…the US elections.

Tricky, one only has to look at when you contribute…the Dutch elections, the French elections (first round), the current rioting.
It all gets you going and you gleefully adopt, your excited ‘I told you so’ mode time and time again.

Where I live has nothing to do with anything. It’s a choice I made years ago and I’m far from being the only one on here who lives in what you describe as an ‘elite’ area. You may as well say that because I don’t live in poverty I have no right to comment on those that do.

As regards women…if women pass the training to join the SAS etc I would have no complaints. It’s not an area I, or I suspect you, can claim any expertise in but we come from an age when few women drove, there were no businesswomen or female headteachers/GP’s and the idea of a woman driving an HGV, a bus or piloting an plane would have been completely alien. Times change…try and keep up!

The only women Thicky approves of are those grateful for his attention, hence his inability to find one in the UK!

Indeed grandmaster tunnel vision has returned. What part of the spectrum are you on rA that requires such slavish devotion to a topic. Conversation and debate should be free flowing rather than being kettled into a restricted area.
