Of course, that would be great, but selling your best players makes it much harder to get promoted - unless you use the money to strengthen the squad and recruit consistently well. Brentford have shown how that can work.

If crowley goes I can see Jones following. I hope we're not going to be a selling club then end up signing a load of cheap crap players.

My thoughts are that someone is just having a laugh in the school holidays, making a post on FB under the username of Notts county mad, to watch the fall out on here….in all probability it’s likely a Mansfield fan!

I can’t see him leaving, unless a large amount of money is offered of course, in which case the club would be a little bit mad not to accept it imo. As someone else has said, Jodi, albeit a different type of player to Crowley, could be moved further forward. And who knows how good Grant is going to be….along with any other attacking players the club has its eyes on. Edwards looks like a player who could do a similar job to Crowley in a deeper position to me.

We have to give the club some leeway here, the recruitment has been fantastic since the owners took over, certainly the best it’s been since I’ve been following the club, and they have earned the right to play it as they see fit.

I really dont understand why some don’t think they’re serious about promotion. The owners have repeatedly said that they won’t just sign players for the sake of filling the squad, and that is what has transpired…the squad has improved in quality every year they have been here.

I can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading on here (even though it is NCM). We have the best owners we have had for years, a couple of exciting seasons regarding promotion and the number of goals scored. We have signed a new defence something fans have been shouting about for years. They have invested money both on and off the pitch but some people will never be happy ffs.

    Yep.

If Crowley or any player is sold, it is what it is. I don’t buy in to we can’t get promoted by selling our best players, though, it depends on who came in. Conor Grant can play the Crowley role as an attacking midfielder.

If Dan Crowley were to leave then who would we have to take on the Matty Palmer role? Can't really see it happening at the moment but what do I know.
There are 3 ways this could go.
Sell him now if the offer is too good to refuse.
Let his contract expire as per Ruben.
    Extend his contract.
    The same applies to Jodi.
They would have to get at least one replacement in for each of them if they were to go.

Good question, who would take on the Matty Palmer role?

Could his initials be an M and a P?

I can understand some people being worried or concerned but surely after five years the owners have done enough to show they can be trusted custodians of the club have they not? They are far better than other owners we’ve had in the previous twenty years and have got far more right than wrong.

A year ago hardly any of us knew who Cowley was or that he would become one of our best players. The same goes for others like Rodrigues, Langstaff and Wootton. All unknowns and unproven at the level we were operating at. Likewise I would imagine one or more of the new signings might become our best players by the end of the season.

This is a great thing and shows the club is doing something right. If the club get an offer they can’t refuse then why not take it if there is someone in the building who has joined who has sufficient quality. Obviously a player going to Mansfield is never going to go down well with the fan base so any such move would undoubtedly cause upset. I’m sure the owners are fully aware of that and as such it would no doubt have to be something substantial for both club and player.

Well said that man!! Like seriously - we want the players to be composed but half the supporters on here go into pure panic and accusation the second there is any issue/challenge. I know I'm pointing the finger a bit (apologies) but i love this club and I think we have a responsibility to have some faith and NOT create bad vibes as the fans/the club - we're all so connected.
