Take your sense and get out of here! Your point is exactly why possession is king. If you can control as much of the ball as possible, your outcomes are far more likely to be favourable. Pretty simple logic.

I thought the same. The difference between how the two visitors approached the game was basically polar opposites of one another. Far bigger contrast to how we approached them. Quicker passing , more forward momentum due to more space in the oppositions half.

I hope for more of the Grimsby approach than the Fleetwood but so far 2 home games, 3 entertaining halves of football. I’m more than happy with that. Also feel we are a little unlucky not to have a couple more points to date.

One of the best young players to go out on loan must be Jermaine Defoe from WHU to Bournemouth, he scored in 12 consecutive games (I think) at the age of 18.

number 9s often find it hard to impact the game especially when possession based teams can't get out of recycle mode. Controversial opinion: I think Jatta might already be better at impacting the game in those circumstances than Macca was?

Agree that Notts struggle against the low block. Our midfield is still under construction though, and Palmer, Edwards, Crowley, JJ, Hinchy, Grant, Macari, and others! have all shown they can break the lines on occasion. I think we're going to get better at this. eta: an area to judge the coaches?

Your controversial comment isn't controversial, I said the same last week. I also agree with the rebuild comments, more game time and I think we will be very happy with what we have (just keep DC and JJ ffs Notts).

And, of course, it is a lot more difficult for the opposition to score when they don't have the ball. Mind you, last season wasn't such a great example. The theory's okay mnd.

When his hold up play isn't great we often win the second ball anyway. When a defender has a 6 foot 3 Gambian jostling him under a high ball, the header clear is not going to be very accurate.
