I didn't "advocate", I asked folks their views. FWIW Alli has missed about the same amount of game time over recent times as Solomon, who we have acquired from a source no better or worse than Everton.

As for the player that was the subject of my post, if he came to LUFC on a pay-for-play basis, it might be good for all concerned, who knows.

Would he be any good? Who knows? No-one will until and unless he gets an opportunity. His injury record and time missed isn't substantially worse than Solomon who we "took a punt on" which early doors looks like it might pay off, but he dies have considerably more experience in English club football. All the above is factual, and as for "misbehaviour" of the field, we're used to such things surely, and coped with any on-field consequences.

Still scratching my head at why we just didn't pay the blunts 18m for Hamer , best player in the championship and we would have also got to seriously piss off Wilder but more importantly , makes us stronger and the blades seriously weaker !

We HAVE taken a punt on players who have across ALL those sold and brought in have a profile that doesn't clome close to Allis.

Of those we sold they have apparently had roughly a combined 70 minutes - Archie having had the most / Summerville 21 mins and Rutter 4.

Archie was gutting to lose and will be incredible.

We actually probably did pretty well to get a combined 65m for Rutter and Summerville (with more if add on triggers met).

Squad has a much more balanced feel to it than last year and less of the just give the ball to Rutter or Jimmy if we run out of ideas.

Matteo Joseph looks so far to be ready and good. The passes v Wendies and then the running and finish v Dull.

In terms of the new signings we haven’t seen much of only time will tell but with the people in charge of recruitment I expect we did lots and lots of analysis so less of a punt but more an educated risk/guess as it typically is.

Just a shame we didn't get Hamer hopey , we would have pissed this league with him in the side , still don't understand why low balled em with 13m offer.

Ah well we go with what we have and lets see where it takes us.
