So before ANY player actually plays for LUFC, on the basis of the past performance of those responsible for the identification and recruitment of new talented players, you seem them worthy of unquestioning support?

Marathe must live supporters like you.

Did I say Alli was any good? No I did not. Is Allis record comparable with that of a player signed from a (very) minor club background and a similar injury record? I would say yes.

We won't sign him, partly because he doesn't fit the LUFC strategy of largely low-balling players from minor non-English leagues but more significantly the club would have to work to keep him fit and suitably motivated. IIMHO.

One other small point, something that no club (to my knowledge), Iincluding LUFC, has ever implemented is the concept of a probationary period. Commonplace in virtually every other area of employment, from checkout operator at ASDA to senior executives at national rail operators, they are entered into by employer and employee to ensure that both are satisfied that their expectations of performance and reward are being met. Why not football?

You mean the borefest that was Ireland vs England today? OMG....I mean yes the England goals were sublime, really, but 88 minutes of mind-numbing tedium from both sides interspersed with about 5 minutes of foitball worth watching? Ireland were sh1t, England for the most part were sh1t, this national competition is sh1t and another UEFA money making exercise with NO significance to anyone else but UEFA.

Apart from the World Cup and the euros international football is a waste of time and completely boring, I don’t know any supporters who enjoy it.

To be fair for the first time in absolutely ages England played pretty well (yes I know it wasn’t against Spain or Argentina etc) with real attacking intent.

That said we had the Euros only what seems like yesterday and just want the football league to carry on without these breaks
