I love the guy and think he was decent in the NL, but I have no idea if he has enough to be a quality striker at this level.
Scott hasn't had the opportunity thru injury ( Thanks to Williams) to play in his natural position. He managed to score 15 goals in the National league, mostly from coming off the bench. When he did start a game, he scored 2 goals and was then dropped for the next game.. Williams again..

It must be very hard for Scott. He was clearly a better player, irrespective of the level, prior to his injury. He does not look as sharp as he did and as others have said his opportunities this season are not in his favoured position. However, better players adapt and can become effective in less preferred positions.
If I were Scott and Notts , I'd send him out on loan to get both the game time and to recover his pace and confidence.
It's right that he is 3rd choice behind Jatta & McGoldrick at present and we will not know if he can cut it at this level until he is fully fit and if he is ever given a run of games.
The way things are going, that won't be any time soon, but as we know it's a funny game and injuries to either Jatta, McGoldrick or both would see him needed.

You really didn’t rate Luke Williams did you.

He probably didn’t play in his natural position because that Williams played a team that won 32 games that season, scored 100+ goals and got 100+ points. Perhaps he wasn’t needed.

If Scott McGoldrick and Jatta are all at the top of their game who do you start with in the number 9 role? You are a very brave man to suggest Scott based on his performance in that position in National League North.

The question for me right now is Jatta or McGoldrick and those two would be great to rotate up front.

I don’t remember how Scott picked up his injury. Can you refresh me Durham? And how it links to Williams. Legit question, no memory of it.

You need to be very careful with those comments about Williams.

Our medical team checked him out in that game and deemed he was fit enough it was just a freak injury nothing more nothing less.

You are obsessed with slating certain people who were not only good people but did a great job here too.

That's because Williams had converted Langstaff, more of a wide forward at Gateshead, into a goal-poaching number 9. He went on to break all sorts of records, if you remember, and fired us to promotion. You think Scott should have played up top instead?

Scott has never been the best striker at the club. That's the main reason he's never had a run of games in his preferred position. I like Scott and think he showed tons of promise in that promotion season, but he's not better than Jatta or McG on current form.

He kept him on because he had dropped a boll*ck using all of the subs with still 20 minutes to go. It was only when Scott went down a second time holding his knee that he came off, by that time the damage was done. A similar thing happened at Sutton with Brindley, He went down injured after the first few minutes holding his hand up to let the bench know he was in trouble. He was kept on, and a few minutes later went off injured, only to be side lined for 5 weeks... Some medical team we had..

So it was medical team then and unless you know EXACTLY what was said then its not worth talking about.

LW isnt a doctor so he would go with the advice of them imo.

As for dropping a b*llock we WON that game if he felt he needed subs on you make that call at the time you dont go hold on one of my players might get injured its a very hard job that is why most fail.

Its not the 70's now sports science plays a huge role I imagine Jatta would likely think he was ok to play Saturday but our team have said no.

I was at that game and remember saying to my brother it was a mistake playing the last 20 mins plus extra time with no subs available

You said it was the medical team... I dont recall any medics coming on to the pitch, and certainly not in Brindley's case..
