But shouldn't you be asking why Odoffin[/i] and others have been 'bang average' this season? A possible explanation (and pure speculation) is that it comes down to demoralisation and/or uncertainty as to the system that they are playing to and what is expected of them. If that were the position who does that come down to?

There are many styles of management from the 'arm around the shoulder' to the 'hairdryer' approach, with effective management requiring a bit of both depending on the circumstances.

I've watched the Rotherham bench quite closely at a couple of games this season and I have seen only bellowed micro-management of a type that would make me tell a certain member of the management team to go and **** himself if he did it to me.

No drama from me . Was just stating . imo on this season performances Odoffin doesn’t deserve a new deal . There could be loads of reasons why everyone in the team are underperforming . Just leave it to the manager and his back room staff to sort out . If not they will be down the road like the last two managers.

Odoffin, the situation is clear if we are to believe what Evans told us. NO OFFER HAS BEEN MADE because Evans said that. An offer was supposed to have been made on first week of September, because that is what Evans said in an interview, he then changed it to before Christmas. He also said that Odoffin wanted to sort his contract out, so unless Evans is lying or out of the loop what are we supposed to think?
Most of your arguments are, we don't have all the facts so we are not allowed an opinion, so if that is the way it works why are you allowed an opinion, and others are not?
You are correct Rafferty might have said he doesn't want to be captain, my real point is Hugill getting it is in my opinion a disgraceful decision, because Hugill shouldn't be here and isn't fit to wear the shirt.
Evans has said he is happy with the squad, he also stated the club agreed to sign players that he wanted but he said no.
Now it could be that Evans is a wonderfully loyal little employee that is protecting the big bad board from the fans anger at the lack of investment, but this is Steve Evans we are talking about not St Peter, he doesn't do anything that isn't in his interest.
Now I accept I base my opinions on what I read or hear in the press interviews or what I see when watching the games, this is not a perfect situation but like everyone else on here it is mostly what we have. This means what we all say is an opinion based on limited information, but we are still allowed to have it and it doesn't mean we want the team to lose and Evans fails, which is the allegation that you made.
I’m glad you’ve got that off your chest! You’re a very odd person - I haven’t defended Evans at all. I’m just staggered by the negativity you and your gang spit out. And let me add, you’re still prattling on about oddofin as if you know more than me. Evans hasn’t offered a contract - that’s all we know. You don’t know why.

Some good observations being made on the Oddoffin situation

I’d like to add that he’s got a few months to first of all win a new contract and secondly to secure some decent terms.
He’s effectively incentivised to play very well between now and when we (may) offer him a new (improved) deal.
He can do that by putting some great performances on the pitch.

Points accepted regarding decisions by the management team may be hampering his progress
If we don’t want to do it then another club might based on what they see

I am odd, coming from you that is a complement, have you read your own posts on this thread and your replies to what people have said? I was going to write a full response but you aren't worth the effort.

Getting rid of SE won't make a blind bit of difference.Evans was the only manager TS could persuade to come.No other decent manager wants to work for this club.I saw Stockport last night and they played some brilliant football, they have no bigger crowds than us but have a chairman who is investing in improving the squad of players they have. There is no plan and ambition whatsoever at this club.

Tired of saying it Odoffin isn't a midfielder. He's a championship quality centre back.

I'm getting tired of agreeing with you. Maybe we should keep banging the drum till the masses agree
