Glad however that you understand the comment about mental health. rA seemed to miss, and I hope you didn't, the point that such insults may be water off a duck's back to the intended receiver, but may impact those in hearing/reading proximity. Its something I'm fairly hot on, for example I've modified a bad habit I had (in fact I think I've used it on here) of 'picking on' correcting syntax and grammar errors - 90% is just laziness but I've decided to suppress my own smugness for the sake of the 10% who may have a genuine problem such as dyslexia
I concur. My best mate, definitely fails to understand the difference between your and you're. But the fingers get sat on, rather than inflame the temper strops that will follow.

As regards Tricky I do remember him being vile to a fellow Forest supporter both on here and his own forum. Can’t remember the guy’s name - it was a while ago - but he was clearly getting on a bit and, from what I gathered, he wasn’t very well either. Tricky’s ‘clock’s ticking’ jibes were relentlessly unkind so my sympathy is limited.

He also tried it with me when he and another former poster got stuck into me for post after post about being a retired teacher. Tbh it didn’t make the slightest difference to me…water off a duck’s back…but it got personal and is something that you and GP were all too keen to do too. (Wonder why it’s always the same three.) I’ve no idea what the relevance of occupations, or former occupations, is, but it was all designed to undermine and you’re maybe not so squeaky clean yourself in that respect.

On the subject of grammar. It’s easy to pick up on the ‘weaknesses’ of others and, imo, being literate is indeed a crucial tool, but you’re fortunate to have a decent command of language and might do well to remember that those with ‘difficulties’ often have at least as much to offer in terms of common sense contributions. As an example I give you ‘Mista’…a much missed (imo) former poster with very eccentric/poor literacy skills who made more sense - about both football and ‘life’ - than most.
The poster you was looking for was Basie.
Yes the very same old man, who used many various nasty insults on many posters, including DCM ones like Jacksdale.
In the end he was undone, after I requested an IP address sweep, and it was uncovered he was using 8 different user names in his little game. They banned him.
Be careful who you ally yourself with.

I remember years ago, he couldn't get a job because he was unable to put together a legible CV. I offered to help him and we'd made a start when Elaine Dean also offered. Her being local and me not made it eminently sensible for her to take over the "baton".

Never known such a fanatical Rams supporter and his battle cries, including the legendary plea not to forget your "flanges and scravers" will go down in history. He passed last November, aged just 38. Got the minute's applause at the next home game and, during the applause, Owen Bradley waxed lyrical about B4. Most definitely the most dyslexic person I've ever come across and 100% Derby, through and through.

I might still highlight some classic howlers, especially from people who "ought to know better" but I shall not be lampooning those who obviously CAN'T do better.
I think B4 was OK with some gentle ribbing, who couldn't help but smile over his Connor Sammon song. It was the outright nastiness that wasn't nice, but that usually came from opposition fans.

I will poke fun but only if It's obvious autocorrect has kicked in.

I'm not sure if I'm slightly dyslexic or not, I often have to stop myself at work and read back emails etc as I type as the word sounds and often put the wrong spelling, they're, their there , here, hear etc, I also have issues saying some words, I've never been able to properly say anonymous ha.

I think mine stems back to school, I never learnt to write joined up, even today I write in block capitals.

I do put the blame on the teacher at school mind when the class was learning I did struggle but rather than persist he just told me I was thick and I wasn't allowed to continue learning.

How times have changed, imagine doing that now?

Who'd have thought I'd become a developer lol.

Shockingly bad teaching, Sith. Should be ashamed of him(?)self.
I doubt you’re dyslexic…anymore than I suffer from dyscalculia. Maybe spelling wasn’t your strong point and I’m certainly pretty crap at maths but there are maybe too many people looking for labels these days.
Always believed that what’s being said is more important than perfect grammar anyway.

As for Andy’s self proclaimed ‘cleverdickyness’ with language, ‘omongst’. Really? Oops!

Sorry AF…I have no idea what you’re referring to. What did I do, over eight years ago, on ‘page 1 of the Brexit thread’?

I thought it’d be you who took the bait. You missed ‘prefect’

Not really…just thought ‘no one’s prefect’ was your little joke. Didn’t realise ‘omongst’ was you just joshing too.

That's AF's modus operandi, when he makes himself look stupid, he claims he was "joshing". Either that or he disappears, though now of course we "know" this is purely down to him wishing to stop a debate going on endlessly.

His other trait, is to attack the way a post is written, rather than address the argument. of course this is just down to him wanting "grammatical" perfection on the Forum.

In the meantime you can post right wing tropes, repeat fake news ad infinitum, spread lies and generally adopt a racist, xenophobic, misogynistic and bigoted without fear of any criticism.

On the other hand suggest that a poster is perhaps a little dumb for repeatedly posting stuff that is demonstrably not true and you will get censored. But then we live in an age where apparently being dumb is something to be proud of.

I think you are right I tell myself it's because, like Dr's allegedly, it's because my mind works to fast for my hands.

It was a him teacher, and it could be a totally separate topic on bad teaching.

There was the female teacher who thought it was appropriate to take the piss in front of the class when she discovered through my picture I was colour blind.

Then the other female teacher who wouldn't listen at dinner when I said I felt poorly and forced me to eat my dinner, which I then threw up (It was beetroot so imagine the colour ha), I then got the cane for doing so.

Never been able to eat beetroot since.

I’m surprised, Sith…thought you were probably too young to have experienced such examples.

Tbf…I think few people make more difference than good teachers and I certainly remember a handful - one in particular - who, for me as a te*nager, fitted into the ‘life changing’ category.
On the other hand the memories of the ba*tards, the bullies and those who seek to belittle do definitely stay with us and, imo, have done untold damage to the reputation of the reaching profession.

As for beetroot…you haven’t missed much…food of the devil!
