Maybe people are frustrated that the people from the assault at Manchester airport haven’t been tried yet or the labour MP who got suspended or the fact that a bbc newsreader walked free for what he did.

There are victims of crime and defendants who have been waiting for years for their trials.

The primary difference between the riot defendants and the Manchester suspects is that the former would have been deemed to posed a bail risk (they were taking part in politically motivated, Internet driven mob violence). The Manchester suspects were clearly deemed not to pose a bail risk (I've not heard anything to suggest an ongoing risk from them). In other words, they can join the queue at the back.

The secondary difference is that the IOPC are investigating the Manchester incident and I suspect that the CPS will want to see their findings. Sadly my experience of the IOPC is that it would be flattering to say that they move at a glacial pace.

Huw Edwards was sentenced in accordance with the sentencing guidelines applicable to his offending. You may not agree with those guidelines, which is fair enough, but treating him differently because of his job and public profile would have been an example of a two tier approach.

Mainly because all of the people preoccupied with the same issues tend to post the same kind of things at the same time. Like at the moment, Tommeh etc are posting outrage about Lynch and comaring it to the airport thugs who haven't been sentenced yet, sharing the comparative videos etc. I tend to get them from my old school pal who is a fervent Tommeh follower and is still merrily trying to radicalise me!

I think this Panarama doc gets pretty much accurately depicts how the 'alternative media sources' are being viewed, viewers manipulated with fake news (extremely cleverly and very cynically) and ultimately leads to social unrest. BBC I know, I know, but explores from a fact basis (old school, I know I know)
