It’s about right, but it’s skewed a bit by us getting a penalty which is obviously a massive xG figure.

What it does show is how much we’ve improved defensively, though. Even when we play badly and teams have a half an hour spell when they’re on top and get a decent number of shots away, we are conceding very few clear chances on goal.

The only "stat" that matters is points on the board at the end of the season.

Platt and Bass also had good games, McGoldrick was trying hard but not everything came off. The subs did well to be fair. To say nobody turned up apart from Tsaroulla is just plain naivety.

We've drawn away with a top side in this division whilst having around 7 or 8 key players out.

I understand the frustration, but this result shows we are better equipped this season to lead a charge for promotion when the cards aren't stacked in our favour.
Could you please tell me who these 7 or 8 key players we have out.
Barrow had several key players out tonight, to me this is another poor result.

Totally agree, we're lacking a threat up front, Jatta gets very little service and as already stated, he's been in the defenders pocket for the last few games.

I was prepared to give SM the benefit of the doubt for half a season but, little has changed. We've tightened up at the back admittedly but we have not craft or guile up front, we're toothless and we need to sort out just exactly what Crowley is supposed to be doing.

Tsaroulla looks good and needs to be given free reign, he's definitely a threat and we need to use him effectively.

Amongst all the gloom and "poor results", perhaps it's worth remembering we're currently third in the league and in the last three games we've taken two points from two away games against the teams currently placed 8th and 9th, and won at home against the team currently placed 10th with three games in hand, and we've achieved this without Jodi Jones, the best player in the league by common consensus.

I get the fact that the performances could have been better, but sometimes I think Notts fans just enjoy being miserable. Maybe it's a kind of PTSD from past experiences!

Notts fans pay money to watch a product, that product is inferior at the moment and we could easily go in to free fall if we're suddenly not, getting late penalties, just as we did last year. I think we were actually top at about this time last year until we got dismantled by Mansfailed and Wrectum which was the start of an awful run of results.

I don't. I mean I pay for the stream these days, but I've supported them through some mighty meager times over the last half century. I stopped buying Branston pickle because the quality went down, but I don't know many people who think Notts County is a product.

That product is inferior at the moment to the flowing football we've generally seen for most of the last two years which saw our attendances explode into five figures, but the absence of a player like Jodi Jones (alone) would affect any team at our level.

If you think you're hard done by recent results and performances, let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of the Steve Thompson and Gudjon Thordarson eras. I'll show you something that'll make you change your mind...

respect to all Notts fans, but I do think the promotion season did weird stuff to expectations and created a base feeling of almost entitlement. Even though we're struggling to deal with injuries, we're 3rd and getting away points at difficult places. Yes, the performance trend is worrying, but don't panic Captain Manwaring!
