Well, quite!
The owners won't be blind to the quality of performance. They stated last season that their data suggested our early season results flattered the performances, and of course our results did drop off eventually, but at least let's wait until there's something tangible to complain about before complaining. For all we know, we might continue to successfully grind out "lucky" results over the next few weeks, and when the likes of Jones and Edwards return the performances could return with them.
I think most Notts fans would have been happy with third place in the league at this stage of the season. It doesn't mean anything conclusive with the winter months and the 'business end' of the season still to come, but for heaven's sake enjoy a decent league position for what it is, at least for now.
Got out of jail. Too many players not at the races last night. Goldie, Crowley especially. We lose momentum when attacking at pace. We get around the box & instead of whipping the ball in, check back, let's make another pass. The defence play is still sloppy at times & we bring unwanted pressure on ourselves at times trying to be the citeh of div 2.
You can add Austin to the list missing from last night.
What’s frustrating with all of the injuries is that we’re having to start players when we’d ideally be resting them - there’s no way Didzy would play 180 minutes Sat-Tue if we had a full-strength squad available. Same with Matty Palmer.
Despite all the naysayers, these are great points we’re picking up while muddling through. Obviously, I’m hoping for a more convincing, winning performance on Saturday, but there’s no way we would be picking up these points while under the cosh with last season’s goalkeeper and defence.
It would be nice to not keep conceding from corners, though.
I started watching Notts in 1967 so I 'm well aware of the ups and down but lets not forget, were still bottom of the football league, pyramid. I know that real fans will buy that 'product', regardless but they will still moan. Some, results. are glossing over some pretty poor performances.
I see that the Port Vale 'product' is yet another 0-1 win.
Semantics, how many times have we heard about the Notts 'brand', it's the same thing and why do you think we've attracted crowds averaging 11K at the Lane and not sub 5K like in the past, it's because of the product, brand, call it what you want. I too have been through the mill with this team since 1967 though living abroad for much of the last twenty years. When I'm in the UK, I always attend and was a 'The Nest' last night.
I still love Branston pickle.

It does worry me that our plan seems to be "play pretty football, and if pressed too much to play pretty football, keep trying and failing to play pretty football until the opposition is too exhausted to keep up the press".
Maybe the league this year just isn't good enough for the latter not to work - unlike how exposed we were by the three automatically promoted last year.
Our second half record this season is ridiculous, suggesting that might be the case.
