Results may gloss over poor performances, they may not. The table at the end of the season will tell.

Quite the opposite, unlike us, they aren't hamstrung by dragging this label of Man City like football with them. The have a game plan and it's effective, three consecutive 0-1 away wins is pretty solid IMO.

The owners won't be blind to the quality of performance. They stated last season that their data suggested our early season results flattered the performances, and of course our results did drop off eventually, but at least let's wait until there's something tangible to complain about before complaining. For all we know, we might continue to successfully grind out "lucky" results over the next few weeks, and when the likes of Jones and Edwards return the performances could return with them.

I think most Notts fans would have been happy with third place in the league at this stage of the season. It doesn't mean anything conclusive with the winter months and the 'business end' of the season still to come, but for heaven's sake enjoy a decent league position for what it is, at least for now.
Totally agree I’m absolutely baffled by some of the views on here. There’s no disputing the last 2 first halves were very poor. I imagine it’s the same posters complaining last year that we couldn’t defend and you don’t get promoted in L2 by playing so open and begged for more balance.
I don’t know if it’s NL syndrome from Burchnall onwards where we played very good football and often walked over teams and especially at home.
We’re third, it’s going to be a long tough season to get promoted but at least try and enjoy it when you’re sat in the auto promotion places and the good news is we have lots of players to come back too.

More importantly they aren’t hamstrung in any way shape or form with squad budget like many. It is accepted by PV fans themselves that they have the leagues top budget. I also like Darren Moore and think he performed well in higher leagues.

Surely Notts fans can’t bemoan the product served up over recent seasons. Has it not been overall very entertaining? The product is definitely inferior this season as we look worryingly poor in one half of football almost every game this season and we aren’t as easy on the eye. However the fans were fed up with conceding so many goals, gifting goals with comedy defending and wanted more balance. We now have that the defensive unit is unrecognisable to last season.

He's got a proper CV. Bags of experience as a player and manager at all levels, including relegation and promotion scraps. Oversaw a play off final win as well.

This first five minutes conceding thing is easy to fix, just tell the defence to lump it forward until ten minutes have gone. They will be settled in then and the intial press from the other team will have eased off. It's no wonder we get into trouble when six players are pressing three who are trying to tippy tappy out

Would all be somewhere in the staring 11, if not on the bench.

Ok, so maybe it's 6...but I'd rather see any of those names than Cundy, Hinchy, Cisse, Reynolds, Martin etc...

    Therefore....'key' players.
It's very difficult to judge any progress we've made till we get a full squad back and some of the other 'players up to speed', but we are getting some half decent results at times with a depleted squad, so I'll take that for now. COYPiesssssssssss...
