Martin also smacked of Plan G or H after failing to land our top targets.

A lot of this could have been masked with JJ and DC contributing goals and assists like last season, but their absence has only highlighted those problems.
It?s almost as if the bros are allowing SM enough rope to strangle himself with his own incompetence without accepting any responsibility for their own original goof.

Not saying those wins were expected, given the form we were in, but we were above Newport in the table when we won there.
Bradford were 15th when we beat them.

So he?s been manager for a year pretty much and the most impressive results are two wins against teams who never troubled the play-off places last season? The case for the prosecution rests its case.

?Continue to play suicidal short passes from keeper/defence despite the fact youve nearly scored from them already

?Sub off their best players all at once including the big bloke up front who?s their one chance of holding it up and getting out of their half.

Ticks to both. Ive never been so angry at a Notts capitulation. Maynard clearly pre planned those subs, why did he bother playing a strong team from the start if he was going to throw it away like that??
Must have been a big disappointment to travelling fans who payed their money when Maynard made all these subs making the team much weaker. Big mistake by him!.

One to watch on the highlights.
Just seen a replay, and that wasn't a freak goal at all, it was a brilliant goal. Abbott has the awareness to get there first and take advantage of the keeper's slip, but what he did next was sublime - clearly intended and brilliantly executed. George Abbott will go on to bigger and better things than this, but he'll find it hard to better his first goal in the men's game.

Just got back. Great game with both teams playing their part but Maynard you total idiot WHY did you make four subs when only one or two at the most was needed. We were so close to making the 3rd round. I'm starting to think our manager is a total fraud. ?18 a ticket, ?30 train fare and Maynard threw the win away.

That said I think this is a good squad full stop, even taking into account the injuries. They?ve just got a rubbish manager, unfortunately.
Correct.. We are going nowhere with whilst him and his management team are still at the club..

Reading this you would honestly think we had just lost 4-0 to a team in the conference and we were in the bottom half of the league.
The fans calling for Maynard to be sacked I’ll guarantee were saying we’d be bottom half before the season started. Yet here we are, with a depleted squad just 2 points outside the automatics.
If we’d have sacked Maynard in the summer and were currently in the same position, people would be saying it’s proof that Maynard wasn’t good enough.
As for the subs. Posh were pilling on the pressure and it felt the inevitable was coming. He brought on Ness to add more height at the back and Austin as Tsaroulla was fading.
I think AJ was coming off with Tuesday in mind but Scott then went down with what looked like a hamstring injury.
If Didzy is injured, and I suspect he is if he wasn’t on the bench, and Scott has just gone down holding his hammy then I’m glad AJ went off if he’s our only fit striker.
We were under similar pressure at Doncaster and Maynard got panned for not making changes. Then when he does, he still gets panned.
We lost 4-3 to a league 1 team and dominated for large spells. Calling for the managers head is bed wetting at its finest!

He explained in the post-match interview that he took the players off with Tuesday’s match in mind. Lose against Walsall and it’s going to look a doubly bad decision.

Didzy trained yesterday - he was rested with Tuesday’s match in mind.
