    But how many players do Champ clubs want on their books? They can't sign ALL the good players.

    Not much point in a good cup run or selling a rising superstar because you can only spend a percentage of that income stream on footballing matters. You can spend as much as you like on new crappers and monorails though.

    From the article I would say revenue from cup runs and player sales are separate from owner investment.

    So if you're loaded and looking to buy a club and L1 and L2 clubs are available, are you more likely to go for it or now wait for a championship club to become available?

    All rule changes over the past 20 odd years have seemingly made it easier for the top clubs to remain top clubs and harder for lower ranked clubs to break up the status quo. I'd be surprised if this rule bucks that trend. On the face of it this does look like its' going to create more of a divide between tier 2 and 3 and than close it.

    Yes it is seperate but;
    "Another change to the rules means that only 60%, in League One, and 50%, in League Two, of extra football income - such as prize money, cup earnings or transfer fees received - will be able to spent on player-related expenditure, whereas previously all of this money was able to be spent on the squad."

    By owner investment, does that include loans or just capital investment? Two different things

    That money is money going into the club not money going into the owners bank accounts. They're trying to stop owners spending from their own money and putting clubs at financial risk to try and gain promotion. Take Bury for one and look at them now.

    Well all the more reason why 50% of prize/transfer income is wrong. Why shouldn't all of that income be spent on football issues?
