As an outsider, it looks to me as though the club set out to sign players who have been part of teams that have been successful at being promoted from League 1 in the past, but in doing so gave little, if any, thought to how (and, more importantly, if) they could be brought together as a successful team here.

There is no obvious leadership on the pitch, and, I suspect that relationships have broken down to the point where the players do not respect Evans sufficiently to accept his leadership off it.

The net effect of that is there for all to see. The club is in a mess and is not attractive to potential recruits in January or, indeed, the summer. Furthermore, I suspect that the club offered big money to secure its targets in the summer '24 window (and possibly summer '23 too) leaving the cupboard rather bare.

I should stress that I know nothing about football.

On the point of the supposed poor behaviour towards supporter by certain players, I have no idea if it happened, but, as someone has pointed out, they are human and if they get constant stick, it's a bit rich to expect that they will not respond. If it happened, it's just another marker of how things have fallen apart since the much ridiculed 'good person' days under Warne.

I always think by all means have a go at players if you want , you've paid your money etc etc .

However don't moan if they have a go back or climb in to the stands as Eric Dier did at Tottenham and confront you .

Works both ways in my opinion .

Kerr I would never Boo a player or shout abuse it?s pointless and counterproductive.
Phillips yesterday didn?t get abuse when he had a chance to play it out to a player who was free he hoofed it the crowd groaned he shouted something towards them. He then kicked it straight into touch a coupe of supporters shouted can?t you keep it in the pitch.
He gestured for them to shut up and then proceeded to argue with them.
Hardly getting abuse just take it on the chin.
Like I said I don?t agree with abusing players but as supporters we have a right to have a moan if the players aren?t playing well CONSISTENTLY.
I wouldn?t do it but others do and imo he was out of order yesterday just get your head down instead of antagonising the paying public when let?s get it right you are consistently underperforming.
It?s not the first time he?s done this.
Maybe walk the walk first then you can give it large.

I wasn't there Yak and I don't know the lad, so I'm only making general comments, but, being charitable, there may be some additional considerations at play:

    1. He may be under instructions to hoof it.
    2. He may read this board and other social media and be well aware of the often expressed view of him.
    3. Nobody likes to make a mistake (or so I've been told) and doing it very publicly could be particularly unpleasant, so he may have been angry at himself.

I'm not trying to make excuses for the sake of it - just saying that it's good to make allowances for people being human and fallible.

I was there but didn't see any of this. But when fans abuse players and vice versa you have a very serious problem. However the fans are more important than players, most of whom are journeymen with no connection to the town or the clubs history. The fans are the club. Something the despicable Premier League has forgotten

Shows how bad we were yesterday -

Calendar news didn't even mention our club in the sports round-up, for Boxing Day.

ELK - that's because what was on offer at NYS yesterday didn't qualify as sport!

We are approaching fast, 24hrs till another game…..and now evans thinks he made a mistake letting them off with xmas day.

He has a knack of turning everything round to himself, only this one is double edged….complains some didn’t perform (only some?) and then says it’s his fault….only he doesn’t really, turning it into a maybe….

    24hrs plus….long time since I didn’t feel like going to a game.
