oh come on MA. Any recommendations will be welcome and an improvement.
But it smacks of a watering down of the problem and not exposing the way this was handled. If what I've heard is correct, lets take Rotherham. Its supposed to mention it ONCE !! Now I call that a full body swerve.

The police officer I mentioned also claimed it's still going on. If so, the police need to go after the scumbags, whoever they are, wherever they are and with the full force of the Law.

Then its resident gob****e AF (or notable others) who speak up at risk, with later slaps on the back from the cowards in the room. Having followed the grooming issue a bit and more so over the last few days I find it unbelievable that so many 'professionals' (police, social workers etc) could independantly decide that community harmony mattered more than protecting vulnerable females, there MUST have been a significant amount of 'follow my leader'/herd mentality going on
‘Slaps on the back from the cowards in the room’, certainly resonates AF, but it does sometimes take a degree of both confidence and stubbornness to stand up to others, especially when they hold a position of greater authority.

I wouldn’t be so surprised about the herd behaviour of certain professionals though. After all, haven’t two very senior members of the CoE establishment just been caught up in a similar smaller scale cover up and don’t get me started on non disclosure agreements. Different circumstances I know, but they’re usually just a method of an organisation/establishment covering up facts that may cause embarrassment. I refused to sign one once…didn’t go down at all well.

Sorry Tricky I saw the Jeremy Kyle connection and didn’t watch any further.
He’s a trash monger and a misery peddler imo and one of the last people I’d take any notice of at all.
There’s been a big problem for more than twenty years now imo and the response to the problem has ranged from misguided to shameful.
I have to say that there are some, and this may include you, who are motivated by their right wing political agenda for whom it has suddenly become fashionable - thanks to Musk - to jump on this particular bandwagon as a means of attacking both Muslims and Labour. The leader of the opposition is a classic example of this having chosen to do very little, if anything, during her 8 plus years in government.
It is undeniably true that most grooming gangs are made up of Pakistani men. It is also true that most perpetrators of ***ual abuse in the UK are not Muslim.
I share your complete contempt for the grooming gangs and all those who abuse women and young people. Where we differ is that I also have a similar level of contempt for those who have turned this whole tragedy into an exercise in political opportunism and in so doing have jeopardised the safety of the likes of Jess Phillips.
You’re right, it is a scandal, and those who are guilty deserve to be brought to justice, but not in the way that the likes of you, Richard Tice, Musk and Badenoch (and others) recommend.

Well I'm going to pull you up for your lack of interest due to bias. Especially as someone previously being a position of extreme trust with minors.

So' I'll sum up for you, to stop you swerving it.
A father rang in (in tears), telling the show how in 2004, his daughter was being picked up regularly from a private school by a gang of groomers who had driven 18 miles , to abuse her and pass her round.

When he found out, he went to the police and rape crisis people.
They visited him, to tell him to accept that a 13 year old can pick her own boyfriends? They also told him, that if he persued this, he would be arrested for racism?

Exactly how simple do you want this? The police were part of this massive cover up and though you don't like my agenda, myself and a huge majority of this country are not accepting the way the political elite are sweeping this under the carpet. As for Jess Phillips, she's a two faced liar, who projects for the cameras, how she's a womens rights champion and campaigner. Yet not when it comes to children being mass abused and it may implicate her colleagues in party politics. Thats what offends me.
You sound just like them and would conviniently like this to be hushed over and forgotton.

From Blair onwards, all political ministers need investigating here.

First Jeremy Kyle and now Simon Danczuk. Really? Look him up. You do yourself no favours.

He has history in Rochdale. A former MP, he came sixth at last year’s election in his latest Reform manifestation. There’s a reason for that.

I think we might be able to put this to bed now. To sum up...

TTR thinks those involved in the grooming/rape should be investigated and, where there's sufficient evidence, arrested, charged, brought to trial and, if found guilty, dealt with severely.

    Everybody else on here agrees.

The same goes, as far as I can see, for anybody that either covered anything up, helped with a cover up or failed to report it.

The difference being that TTR and, if "social media" is anything to go by, many others, want a public inquiry into it.

Many others, myself and, I believe rA, are of the opinion that we are talking about possible criminal offences and that it should be the police who investigate, not another inquiry. If we take Rotherham, for example, it certainly shouldn't be Yorkshire police doing the investigating due to possible conflicts of interest. Another force should do the investigating.

There's no difference in the WHAT as far as I can see, it's the HOW where there are differences.

    Yours etc.
    (Hopefully) the voice of reason.
