Farke did gush about Bueandia though - suspect it will be unrequited love though.

So if the ball is turned over by the opposition they will look to exploit the space in front quickly & any spaces that have been left open on the transition will be exploited by them as they all know exactly what to do when such a chance happens.

As our fullbacks are within our forward line width when we attack, then we are susceptible for the counter-attack from deep, particularly with our central defenders often in the oppo s half spreading out wide, which I have discussed before. ☺

When in possession our overloads are created by players moving away from their starting position (such as wide players moving into central areas or central players moving out towards the touchlines).
Farke also requires his team to have more than one player in these zones who constantly rotate.

In order to create an overload, all teams need to dominate possession for long enough (as we do well) while our players make the rotating movements required to get into their new attacking positions.
Therefore it is a requisite that our players must be comfortable on the ball to combat any forward 'press' as they risk giving the ball away if they are not good enough.
In fairness our wingers are all good on the ball but as football is a low scoring sport any team who overload in an attacking position must do everything they can to punish their opponents and take advantage & score.👍

Farkes wants our forward (Joseph) to make running movements 'off the ball' to help our supporting players into attacking open spaces.

A decent 10/playmaker is, imo, therefore very important as deep defending teams will be discouraged from engaging with the 'BALL-CARRIER' & if they do then spaces are created to exploit particularly one with a quick brain at Villa.

Looking back on how teams counter us on the breaks it is no wonder that our back four are riddled with Hamstrings problems as they are always having to gallop back chasing the ball & far to often lunging into leg stretching last gasp tackles.
Byram goals or runs into the box often see his gait being over stretched too via his commitment to being decisive with the ball.
All our central defenders are continually been turned & having to chase back far to often, imo, too.

We need a calming player who can dictate our tempo better with passes that do not rely always on the tippy tappy & sudden explosion of pace week in, imo, that now all teams are aware of.

That is what I see, after viewing many of our heat-maps of movements of our players over 90 mins, anyway. 😉
Without get bogged down in analysis on this thread... defenders should be talking to each other... when done correctly a player will cover for his team mate either by dropping back or moving across, talking to his team mates to react accordingly. Players getting injured be it lunging or challenging for a ball... is, as you have inferred is down to them being not being in control or correct position, or players who cannot tackle or jump properly to challenge for a header. That's not down to tactical errors but a player trying to amend his error, which at this level compared to PL is happens more
Football can be a simple game ... we need a couple who can do the simple things more often.

One of the challenges of the Farke system and avoiding taking risks is that we often keep possession in or pass back into our defensive third of the pitch which makes us suspectible to the high press.

It puts a lot of pressure on Meslier and the two CB to be comfortable dealing with the press and requires the full backs and the 6 and 8 midfielders to show as options.

Don?t know why that system can?t be adapted so if we are in the other team?s half we shouldn?t pass back to the defensive third unless it?s an emergency.

I can see why he plays the risk free system as with a decent squad at this level over the course of a season it generates lots of points which should be enough to take you up but it can also be dull as ditchwater at times - not least when we end up in the endless recycle the ball loops without attacking intent.

With the attacking talent available in this squad it would be nice to see them given more licence to take risks, beat players and create chances rather than trying to take the risk free version we seem to adopt at times.

Crossing early from put wide should be used more too imho. 😎

Understand having a smallish squad, team spirit, harmony etc, but again we could be 2 key injuries away from bottling it again - Struijk & Wober both injury prone, so only leaves Rodon, as true CBs, same up front, lose say Piroe, and again nothing as backup. We are looking good and in a great position, just that bit of insurance needed to finish the job
