The problem we have which can?t be fixed in my opinion is that we rightly wouldnt accept some of the shyte that other teams in the league are happy to. We cant afford to sign players that will make a consistent difference though. We will never be able to spend the money to be noticeably better than the shyte.

It was at St. Mirren I had this revelation so I?ll use them as an example. We wouldn?t accept Alex Gogic at AFC as we all know he?s pish. When they play us though he always plays like Franco Baresi while their triple barrel surnamed striker scores his only goal of the season against us to win. It?s infuriating. How many no mark Motherwell players down the years have turned into wonder players for 90mins?

We?ll continue to turn up in large numbers & other teams will know our players can?t handle it. We?re stuck in a shyte Goldilocks zone that we will never get out. Nothing will ever change. COYR!
Wouldn?t be against a player like Gogic in our midfield - not him but a player who works hard and can break things down, sit defensively and not afraid of physical contact. Also big and strong enough to win headers
There has to be players out there who could play that role for us in certain games when not all about playing tippy happy football
I like Polvara but he doesn?t have the physicality to play in a defensive role for me

The guy Mark OHara at St Mirren usually plays well against us but you just know that if we signed him he would be horrendous for us.

We have signed a fair few players who seem to play brilliant against us but end up being shyte when we sign them.

Curtis Main JET and Greg Stewart spring to mind.

I think Mason is largely right. We pay slightly better than most, but not enough to go with the expectations and pressure. So we?re a target for others to show what they can do and we struggle as we don?t have the tink?s quality.

But maybe the player trading model can get us out of that trap if we can get into Europe each season and generate enough cash?

Deluded I?m sure but a hope for the new year!

Tom English was apparently on the radio saying Jimmy is fed up with some of his players.

I didn't hear it myself and only going from what I read on Twitter.

Be interesting to know which ones. I have no doubt there is more than an element of truth to it.

I see Jimmy is saying that he hopes to take the Dons into Europe next season.

Maybe start with teaching the players the basics of football first before we look at getting the passports out, eh?

He isn't going to say he hopes to take us into the Championship.

I am far from convinced he is of any use whatsoever.
When under pressure he has continually struggled using the same formation and in the large used the same players. Changes only started to happen through injuries as his hand was forced.
I generally think we can?t keep sacking managers without upstairs from them also clearing their desks as the incompetence starts from the top.
Should we give him the rest of the transfer window?we are in an extremely difficult position as no replacement will be lined up and everything would have to be done ultra quick so a new boss could get some players in they want.
Thelin will get the rest of the transfer window but in all probability he needs a miracle signing or two to stay alive in this job.
The vultures are circling and quite rightly so. The signs and noises at Aberdeen FC are strong but not in the way of backing this incumbent manager.
Thelin comes across as a nice humble guy but I look at results and style of play etc to decipher if a manager is worth his salt. Thelin is the equivalent of Dave Cormack?s other previous choices and no one can convince me otherwise.

Im sure we will, but as I said elsewhere Thelin really needs to wise up a bit on his approach.

Apparently Robinson post match said they had been playing 3-4-3 but went 5-3-2 to undo our central defence.

So thats twice now they have masterminded our downfall, with a made-to-match gameplan.

Thelin, despite all the evidence from the last saints game, picks Rubezic to go up against Olusanya again. Im sorry, but theres no universe where I will ever understand that decision.

Thelin rarely if ever does the made-to-match approach. A football philosophy is fine, but youve got to be pragmatic and realistic at the same time. If you dont have the players for your preferred style, youve simply got to adjust. He hasnt.

    I couldn't agree more.

The most bothersome thing about yesterday for me, was seeing a very average SPL manager get the better of him so easily.

We can stick our noses up and the air and call St Mirren all the anti footballing names we want (and they are), but doesn't detract from the fact they bossed us easily in our own ground yesterday and didn't have to do very much to get the three points.

It doesn't matter how much faith we have in Thelin, if results don't turn soon he is either picking up his P45 or more likley, going to quit to save his reputation.

We have Jimmy and the boy at St Johnstone both coming in to the SPL and trying to implement a style of play that is alien to the Scottish league and both are struggling at the moment.

It would be sad to see us ditch Jimmy and go down the road of a Robinson style manager.
