It appears once people start to defend Trump they struggle to back-down and end up blindly supporting any old ignorant crap that comes out of the mans burger-hole just because they think they are 'WINNING'. It's both dangerous and idiotic but on we go.

It's not misquoted, Palestinians would be moved out of Gaza for the period of reconstruction, my point is that if that were to happen, there is no way that Israel would have them back, it plays right in to their hands.

'Trump says Palestinians could be resettled away from Gaza, "in areas where the leaders currently say no"

Trump wants Gaza cleared of Palestinians, no doubt after his cosy up to Netanyahu.

I'll tell you what mine is, dissolve Israel, move it to the bible belt in the US, job done.

Unlike most here i have been to Gaza, many years ago, it was a typical middle east enclave, people that didn't want to kill you, markets, souke'good food, it could very well have been a riveria on the Med, along comes PLO, all gone!. It's no good looking at the UN to keep peace, i worked for it, it is a gravy train now, useless, under Major general U'thant it was credible, not nw.
Caused in no small part by the barbarism of Israel, everything blockaded from food and water to medicine. The creation of the state of Israel is the root of all this. The Yanks wanted to give them a homeland, they should have given them Utah.

When did we not support Israel?s genocide of the Palestinians? Who has ever been on the side of protecting the Palestinians, apart from South Africa who has known the brutality of western backed apartheid? Which American or British politicians with any clout have ever forced Israel to stop?

Bingo. The previous US administration supported Israel unwaveringly.

None that I am aware of and none will (with any conviction) and I'm sure Israel would not stop unless the US put a halt to the ammunition supply, of course as soon as that were to happen Iran would pile in with glee.

Wholeheartedly agree. The response of the UK and US governments to Israels atrocities has been disgraceful verging on criminal. That doesnt make Pres Rapists intervention yesterday any better.

Are you inferring that many voted for him on a whim or because they weren't intelligent enough to know better?

I think you'll also find that Trump is doing something that the Democrats have never done (and many Republican Presidents haven't done either) since time immemorial and that is do what he said he was going to do.

I believe you'll find that many of the Democratic Party voters and leaders are well below Trump's intellectual level. if you want proof, look how the Democrats are carrying out their National Committee election - a complete mess.

Give the American people a bit more credit. After all, at least they didn't vote in someone like the leader of the UK Labour Party.
You have misconstrued the timeline. I am wondering whether the public will swallow what is coming. I understand he already has his democratic mandate but that is history. The economic effects are in the future. He didn't get elected to reduce living standards but if that is what happens will he be able to maintain his support?

If you think that electorates anywhere in the world think about politics in anything like as much detail as what is on this thread (for instance) you are very naïve. A significant proportion can't even be @rsed to vote. Those that do often don't think much about politics beyond headlines and sound bites, and they base their vote on that. That's not because 'electorates are thick'. It's because they have enough other more interesting stuff to deal with that only the headlines cut through.

I never mentioned his intellect. But as others have noted, in public he uses language that is quite simple and childlike. If he's actually a really smart guy, then he must be doing that because he thinks that's the level of his audience. Take away from that what you like.
