The alternative with Gaza is to rinse and and repeat, which does not and has not worked,POTUS has an idea, a solution and it is liked by a lot of others in the middle east, obviously not the terrorists, who need wiping out.

It's not misquoted, Palestinians would be moved out of Gaza for the period of reconstruction, my point is that if that were to happen, there is no way that Israel would have them back, it plays right in to their hands.

Under the authority world peace, Gaza is a basket case along with being a bombed wasteland that is no good even to the Palestinians, they have got to be shown the way of peace and prosperity but they cannot see that beacon whilst Hamas/ Hezbula are ruling with AK47's, Trumpalong with other middle east nations are goiing to do it a different way new ideas, trillions of dollars......... jobs, peace, prosperity, this has got to be the way not rinse & repeat what is now. Unlike most here i have been to Gaza, many years ago, it was a typical middle east enclave, people that didn't want to kill you, markets, souke'good food, it could very well have been a riveria on the Med, along comes PLO, all gone!. It's no good looking at the UN to keep peace, i worked for it, it is a gravy train now, useless, under Major general U'thant it was credible, not nw.

Wholeheartedly agree. The response of the UK and US governments to Israels atrocities has been disgraceful verging on criminal. That doesnt make Pres Rapists intervention yesterday any better.

Will the public swallow it? That's a shocking statement to make and quite patronising. I think you'll find that over three elections 63 million, 74 million and 77 million respectively voted for him. Are you inferring that many voted for him on a whim or because they weren't intelligent enough to know better?

I think you'll also find that Trump is doing something that the Democrats have never done (and many Republican Presidents haven't done either) since time immemorial and that is do what he said he was going to do.

I believe you'll find that many of the Democratic Party voters and leaders are well below Trump's intellectual level. if you want proof, look how the Democrats are carrying out their National Committee election - a complete mess.

Give the American people a bit more credit. After all, at least they didn't vote in someone like the leader of the UK Labour Party.

You have misconstrued the timeline. I am wondering whether the public will swallow what is coming. I understand he already has his democratic mandate but that is history. The economic effects are in the future. He didn't get elected to reduce living standards but if that is what happens will he be able to maintain his support?

If you think that electorates anywhere in the world think about politics in anything like as much detail as what is on this thread (for instance) you are very naïve. A significant proportion can't even be @rsed to vote. Those that do often don't think much about politics beyond headlines and sound bites, and they base their vote on that. That's not because 'electorates are thick'. It's because they have enough other more interesting stuff to deal with that only the headlines cut through.

I never mentioned his intellect. But as others have noted, in public he uses language that is quite simple and childlike. If he's actually a really smart guy, then he must be doing that because he thinks that's the level of his audience. Take away from that what you like.
