Good luck to him and I wish him well, can?t blame anyone in wanting to further their careers or just wanting a change, he?s worked for the bros for 14 years so a good stint.
The good thing is all our systems and processes will be well documented internally and it will just be about getting the right person in.

What?s also interesting is the bros must really trust him, no gardening leave and left to do the window too, says a lot a really as this offer I imagine would have been at least 3 months ago.

Would guess they had no choice for the last window, what we do not know is if they gave him full access to info on any more long term targets for the summer window.

Swansea seem to think more of us than some of us, no doubt RM inputted on it though 😂

Under his leadership, Notts County consistently outperformed their playing budget, scoring a significant number of goals, developing and selling players for substantial fees, and establishing a reputation for possession-based attacking football. They currently sit second in League Two.

Notably, Notts County secured a return to the EFL under current Swans head coach Luke Williams in 2023, becoming renowned for an exciting style of play that saw them score a remarkable 117 goals in a season.

They have since challenged for promotion to League One, while developing young players who have made a considerable impact for the club and/or generated significant transfer fees.

Richard?s deep understanding of data analytics and his first-hand knowledge of the football industry and operations make him the outstanding candidate for this role.

It's a shame that Richard Montague is leaving the club. I think he's done a fantastic job since coming to the club. We have brought in far more hits than misses and we have sold more players for money than at any point this century. We've also replaced those that have left as well and have moved forward season on season.

The club have lost key members of staff in the past six years under the Reedz brothers whether that be players, coaches, backroom staff and not forgetting the sad passing of CEO Jason Turner. Those whom have come in have been able to do a job and help to continue to take the club forward. It's because of this I'm confident that the club will be able to find a suitable replacement for Richard Montague.

    Trust in the radar.

Good luck to him. Right after the window is probably the best time to lose someone who's really head of recruitment if you have to do it.

As for worrying about some departures not being for progression, I couldn't care less how bad any particular player or their agent's judgement is, all that matters is what we get from the deal. So far I think we've replaced every single departure and consistently improved, only now we actually monetise our assets and don't have a Wootton situation.

High profile leavers have had mixed fortunes - RR has done well, LW looks well set, IB & ML not so much. As for Crowley...

No one at any level can resist bigger clubs' advances, but we're only just getting used to people wanting to pay for our employees again. Someone mentioned Stockport and Challinor - they have a mega wealthy fan as an owner and Challinor's style is hardly fashionable. Perhaps the fact that we let players go when we do - but turn down decent money for AJ - is because the bros back their ability to consistently scale up.

I'd look at their message boards mate, the win the other night saved his job for another match.
