Whether it's the hit-and-miss formations that get put on the field or the ragbag of old-hat tactics adopted or the patently obvious absence of inspiration provided by the management team, we simply lack creativity. Everything seems predictable and, even when, very occasionally, we try something different, it lacks coherence.
Based on our poor performances since we went off the boil, (and we weren't on it for long and it wasn't exactly blood-stirring,) I wasn't expecting much but thought I'd stay faithful and make the effort for what was a 4.30am kick off in my neck of the woods.
I'm good at taking disappointment from the Millers. Like most on here, I've been doing it on and off for many decades. For me, though, that was, in some ways, a new low. Not because we played devastatingly badly but just because it really confirmed what a deep rut of ordinariness and lack of spirit we've slipped into and what a lot we will need to do to get out of it.
I suspect we will have to put up with hobbling along with what we have but, sooner or later, we will need new leadership. This isn't going to get any better with what we have in place.
