Interesting analysis from the usual suspects, but some surprising revisionism on the Reedtz bros time at the club and even comparison to ... Alan Hardy?
Is a bad month in football really all it takes for some of the most sensible, measured (not that they get everything right) owners in league 2 to be compared to that whopper - who is a stain on the club.
As they are doing it sustatinably (they say) it seems the fans, specifically on here, are in way more of a rush to get to what will end up being a glass ceiling for us for years (league one).
Why not just enjoy the ride and stop bursting blood vessels thinking up mad conspiracy theories - we will get there eventually.
Talk of being relegated again is laughable, maybe all the urgency/rush is the slighty older average age on this board, really not sure but some STRANGE takes in this thread.
The point regards Hardy is that talk is cheap, there is a big difference between talking about being able to do something and actually doing it. The bros got out-competed and beaten to promotion from tier 5 by the likes of Barrow, Harrogate and Sutton United, some were insisting Solihull Moors had a bigger budget than we did, so the idea that they could compete with current mid-table tier 2 clubs like Stoke, Norwich, Watford, Sheff Wed, Middlesbrough, whilst Derby are facing the drop, is laughable.
As for relegation back down to tier 5, I would still bet on us exiting tier 4 upwards rather than downwards at this juncture, but then how many people anticipated we would go down to the NL after we'd secured a play off semi-final fixture against Coventry City?
We seem to have got it about right atm , not sure what that translates to tonight . But it's more football and power rather than just rolling it around which we started the season with and lost quite a few games when we were wide open . It seems in division 4 sort of varying it more than playing 1 way works better than having 1 set style . I might be wrong but that's my observation from our form and other teams this season .
Whilst we're on the subject of relegation, it could be three down next season. There is apparently going to be a vote on whether or not to increase to 3 up 3 down this June.
An increase would mean 10 places to either fight for or to avoid, which likely increases the league's level of jeopardy and competitiveness. You could have 3 teams that are so bad, the relegation places look signed and sealed by Xmas, but it doesn't usually work out that way. 3 down this season would have meant Harrogate, Gillingham and MKD being only 7/8/9 points clear of the drop rather than 11/12/13 pts clear (with us still having to play two of them), Accrington would be 3 clear instead of 7 and very much in the danger zone.
He won't answer the question - the guy is a walking contradiction who im still convinced is the most under cover troll in football messageboard history.
There are few teams if any playing the type of football he wants, for a reason, being consistently good at doing what he wants isnt that acheivable at league 2 level, probably better off watching Forest.
