Being a notts fan is one thing I can't blame my dad for. Although, connection to the UK? Totally his fault.

For me it happened by accident. I am not by any stretch of the imagination a "sports fan" of any kind. Or, I wasn't. A friend got me into the football manager computer games and I chose L2 cos it didn't sound like a total nightmare to learn but wasn't total bush league level, and I chose Notts because 1. big stadium for the league made me think this would be useful further up the ladder (correct) and 2. they were one of I think two teams that season wearing any black on their uniforms.

But then I took NCFC to the top of the premier league and we were routinely winning every cup and the champions league etc etc. By the 2030s we had built a new 65,000 seat stadium... named after... Curtis Thompson, of all people. Fans had decided he was the true club legend.

But the weird thing is, I started paying attention to Notts in real life. Curiosity, initially. But ultimately, I realised that all that time spent with the club in the game had wired my brain to be a Notts fan for real. And well, here we are. Notts for life, zero interest in any other team. Or sport, for that matter.

And I think this is at least partly why I'm so biased towards trusting the Brothers' vision. They run the club exactly how I would like to, if I were rich and stupid enough to buy it. They run it like they're playing a computer game. Analyse the stats, formulate strategy. Execute. Evaluate. Repeat.

Interesting! You live in Australia, right? Have you ever made it over for a game?

If only we hadn't sold Curtis Thompson.

    ........ .
    This is bonkers but brilliant!

Hope u can get over to Meadow Lane one day to experience the agony or ecstacy!

Often it's the little things that get to you and create memories - the old tree outside the main entrance and Jimmy and Jack's statue just up the road, the glare of the floodlights as you approach the ground for a night game, the memorial plaques at the rear of the main stand, the 'triangle' on top of the Jimmy Sirrel stand, having a brief chat with Macca as he walked from the main stand to the Family Stand when he was injured one day.

It's these things that make us 'Notts for life'!
