Anyway a bit early to worry about it will be what will be.
Not "too early" and if the club hasn't been considering that position they are guilty of a huge blind spot

He's had plenty and failed to make any of them stick, how many should we add to that list?

McKenna and Nistelroy aren't exactly newcomers and neither have "poor" squads, and are in their way back to the Championship. Southampton took a chance and rung the managerial changes mid-season and look where that got them, despite playing some bloody good football under both (and deputies).

If the owners are serious about staying in the PL, they have to be serious about having a coaching staff and squad capable of doing so. Neither are at this time.

They are both fairly inexperienced in football terms and certainly in the PL.

Ipswich had to bolster a squad that still had a lot of players from their L1 promotion squad so it was always going to be tough for them. They lacked pace in midfield until the Jan window and also some of the defenders were slow. That meant at times they got overwhelmed and couldn?t get back.

Throw in any injuries to key players and squad depth plays a big part.

Relatively we start from a stronger squad base (and there is PL experience in the squad).

Part of the reason for signing at least a couple in Jan is so that they can integrate into the squad so we missed a trick there and adding 8 players to a first team squad in one go is never certain to work.

Anyways we are back and now more hard work for the owners. Step 1 to off load those players not needed/not good enough.

49ers aren?t stupid so will be interesting.

Which way are we gonna go ?

Regardless of our money spending we will need to determine how were gonna play in PL as its changed lots since our last stint.

Possession or rely on winning the ball high up the pitch & then quickly turning that into an 'Italian-style' counter attacking opportunity like Nuno at Forest implements.

Whatever, we have to be more clinical with the chances we create & get, first of all !
We also cannot ignore that when in front the priority is to then contain & block the game also.

If we can 'continue to help each other' in every situation for balance right down into clearing things off the lines, then we shall be ok, imo.

But its gonna need a new core throughout our team set up, for sure.
As in proven clinical finishers, creators & defenders, all with pace & decent non- hampering injury histories, imo, too.

Plenty to ponder on for all concerned in the club & out of it too & hopefully the hard work sourcing answers has already been done with agents of players & possibly coaching staff options too alongside the stadium re-furb importance to help funding.

Every opportunity within 90 mins of PL football & 24/7 around it will be required to be seized upon for sure in the brutal reality of surviving PL football nowadays.

One thing for sure 'tho, is the fact that this time we are going up without that 'Bielsa charisma' effect as DF has not quite unified the connection between team & players with fans which shows on this thread & posts throughout the seasons.

Considering known facts & not knowing all behind goings on behind the scene then personally I would like to thank him for getting us back to the PL & all done within his noted amiable, gracious, genial & courteous manner often whilst under tremendous 24/7 pressure. 👍

I think DF is slowly winning over critics. He has silenced most of them for now, some can?t bring themselves to congratulate him but hey. He has overcome losing star players including Rutter in the season. We are much more solid and cohesive than under Bielsa. Great as he was for the club, players were running on empty too often in latter part of season and always seemed to be involved in a Basketball game.. great for neutrals. Deffo deserves his chance in PL, we won?t be trying to do things Southampton and Ipswich tried, like thinking they were Citeh?

Agree on WS's comment. Besides, he's earned a chance.

The reality is we aren't going to take a chance on a young up and coming coach the first year up. That means we end up with the same old recycled coaches that make the rounds. Very few revolutionary coaches make it in the prem and those that do have exceptional squads... often put together by the predecessor coach.

We do know that Farke plays reasonably interesting football. Not too hard to watch. I also think that Farke offers a more than reasonable chance of staying up. He's going to get some money to spend.

It is very concerning his unbridled loyalty. The keeper situation almost cost us promotion.

The problem is not knowing if the club thinks he will succeed or not and what was said when he signed. Now if they keep him and recruit players that he wants and fails the new manager will have to try and sort things out with players he didn't sign. If the club thinks like some off us think it's a 50/50 well that's not good enough and should look at options. You can say after so many years Klop was a success with pool but what did he win? In comes new manager first go and romps in the comp. It's a tough situation do they look at the future or do we go the way of the yank untill it's too late? PS I wouldn't like to be the one having to make the dicition than again I don't get paid.
